I have a feeling this is going to be Daniel Craig as Bond all over again...

Sure it will. Both are similiar in that the protagonists have a pre-defined look. I'll admit I was on the "Craig Sucks" bandwagon, and I was totally absolutely WRONG about him. I loved Casino Royale and his Bond.

BUT, Craig looked like he could kick ass even though I didn't like him as Bond before the movie. This Olyphant guy does NOT look like he could kick ass, he doesn't look like Agent 47, and his head looks shaved, not bowling ball shine bald.

I deff know where u are coming from. Im a huge Hitman fan and i was up in arms when i heard about Olyphants casting. After seeing the trailer with Live Free or Die Hard, im still not certain hell be able to play the part. Tho the trailer did kick ass. However i deff dont doubt Olyphants ability to play the part of a hard ass. I thought he did a real good job of playing a hard ass in Die Hard. If you havent already seen the movie, go check it out, not only is it a fantastic movie but at the end you might not have such animosity towards Timothy Olyphant.

It isn't animosity at all. I just don't think he looks the part. He doesn't have that chiseled, mean-as-hell face that looks like its been pistol-whipped a couple of hundred times.

Ya know man, i agree with ya, i really do. I'm just going to reserve judgment until i see him play the part, because i really think he can portray the character correctly, even if he doesn't really have the look.

Olyphant may be a pretty face and not cold enough but I think the character wise is there. I believe he can act the part.

Yea i didnt get an "evil" vibe from him, tho i dont think he was goin for that. The character he was playing wasnt really an "evil" guy per-se he was just tryin to "get back at the man" if you will.

Nothing make-up couldn't fix. All they would have to do is use the technology that was used for X3. You'd be surprised how well a 50 year old man can move when he's kept himself in pretty good shape.

Bateson deserved to be casted and I was hugely against Vin Diesel, and I'm very strongly against Olyphant as Agent 47. Granted there's nothing that can be done about it right now. He's casted, the teaser is released, and the film will be released very soon.

I just feel Fox should've given Bateson a chance.

i also noticed this.

i think in the movie hes head will have hair and he will shave hes head.

edit: how dumb i am. there is even a scene in the teaser where he is shaving hes head.

I'm looking foward to this movie. First impression is, Oly's face seems a bit babyih for 47 but the overall look with the suits and guns is spot on. Hope this flick turns out great.

That was just a suggestion I brought up. If they didn't use that special effect, then all they had to do is use make-up to cover up his aging. But as a whole Bateson would've been a much better choice.

If Statham hadn't done Transporter then it'd be a better choice. However, since he's done two Transporters, briefly showed up in Collateral, and did Crank it just would've been bad casting.
