Three words:

ZOMG! BAD @$$! :wow:

I accepted what they are doing with the character. They have to have the changes that they feel are necessary to make a film. Honestly, I doubt we can have a film with about a man just killing for money, without a good motive and such (like a video game) without the critics and non-fans of the video games/those that aren't mindless action buffs tearing it to shreds. People will watch this film not to see him kill people, but if it stand as a film.

"A Sinner becomes a Saint" is a better film than "A killer kills for money."

I would love it to be like the game, but that isn't going to happen.

The point is he kills for money. He's not a hero, it's not a saint, it's not an individual who does things for the sake of humanity. He does them because it's his job. You can still present a great story with showing his time as a young clone, him escaping the asylum where the clones were held, becoming part of the Agency, and move the story from there.

Agent 47 is a unique and interesting character. While he is a cold detached Hitman, in the games he has a cool uniqueness to him and the story is told well. The sinner becomes the Saint is out of character and is unfaithful to the story.

Granted I'd love for them to remain faithful to the game and present an intelligent story, but this is Hollywood and Fox, nothing good comes of this combination really.

.

Thats pretty much untrue. Did you bother playing Hitman 2? Hes shown that hes more than just a ruthless killer trying to earn a paycheck. Given the circumstance, he could easily become a "saint".

Yes, but he realized he can't be righteous, he can't be normal, and "He's not of this world." I have played every single Hitman game, so I have a clear understanding of what I want from the character and the story.

This film has nothing but homage shots to the character and a crappy storyline. No way is this film even going to be halfway decent.

"I can do whatever I'm paid to." So yes, he is just a killer earning a paycheck. He's not some individual who does things for the good of humanity or ridding evil. He kills because it's what he does and he goes after people who aren't even murderers, they just happen to have a client who wants them dead.

I'm not really a fan of the games and the movie looks pretty 'meh.' Why do they keep making movies out of videogames. Especially, Hitman, the game is not that popular. At least not in the area I live in.

imo hitman has a good story

Hitman is an extremely well made and praised game series.. It's plenty popular.

You must live out in the middle of bumf**k nowhere. The game is IO's flagship title and has received great critical and fan acclaim.

The story behind Agent 47 would( and hopefully will) make a GREAT movie.

Before they even touch Hitman, they need to make some good movies! Hitman is just gonna be something someone is gonna rant about how much it sucks and people are gonna be asking for reboots. Leave videogames alone! If Hitman is popular, people shouldn't be happy that its getting turned into a movie. Think Resident Evil!

Clearly you missed something then. You're right in saying he'll kill who hes paid to, but more often than not, its someone that isn't exactly innocent, like i stated before, i dont think there was one target in Blood Money who wasnt crooked in some way.

I think you are reading way too much into the "saint becomes a sinner" tagline. He may end up doing the "right thing" in the movie, but im sure itll be because it somehow was his job, not because he felt that it was the right thing to do.

Good point. But there are some games out there that would make great movies, RE was one em. Unfortunately NO one with any kind of talent got attached to it.

I think its ridiculous to think they videogame adaptations are **** from get go. You say think Resident Evil but is that really a good example? They practically changed everything that made the game so great by turning it into some crappy action flick. Videogame movies can work you just have to have someone who can do it properly. Take Silent Hill for example...I know alot of people hate it but honestly I think it might be the best videogame adaptation to date. It kept all the key elements that made the game so great.

Even so, why are they turning videogames into movies? Doesn't anyone have oringinal material anymore? They have to bite everything from others to make money, which is pathetic. It angers me greatly. Every videogame adaption in my eyes has failed. Yeah, I didn't like Silent Hill.

LastSunrise, I think the film will make 47 an anti-hero.

Why? Because everyone in Hollywood is out of ideas so they start branching out to popular things (videogames) and they try to make a buck off that audience while trying to make something that will attract the general public. But that is the movie industry for ya. Its like a cruel ***** mother. She feeds you chocolates one minute and has got you in a camel clutch the next.

And I liked Silent Hill. :csad:

They should come and talk to me then. I have hundreds of stories. And I'm sure we all do. What Hollywood needs to do is look beyond big names, I hate how they want the quick dollar. But, thats America for you. Looking for the easy way out.

Thats called a risk Hollywood doesn't like taking much of those these days. You just gotta pull a Saw and try to make a great movie for cheap and have them put money into you.

And that, my friend, is why I love the SAW series.

Well go for it. Try to raise some money for a movie you think would be better than the **** they put out these days.

Oh, I'm already there. I got my script ready and am saving some money up. You should see my movie in the next three to four years!
