I'm tired of the "mindless action" dig, there is a story in the movie and seems like a decent one and the games were hardly high end storytelling, please, just b/c they strayed from the source doesn't mean the movie can't be good.

Some deviations are necessary, but not going deeper into his background as a genetic clone, giving him a love interest that he falls in love with him, having him jump around and crash through windows like Jet Li, and having him constantly do drastic things in order to escape is straying too far from the source material.

I also like to point out that 47 is actually bi-racial. Due to him having the DNA of five different crimelords/scientists gave him bi-racial features which allows his disguises to go virtually unnoticed.

Yes, unlike most people, I understand the character and know the story about the character. So forgive me if I'm not jumping for joy when I see a studio literally take a great story, a great character, and just crap all over it.

@Hunter- Let me get this straight. There's nothing but mindless explosions and 47 jumping around like Jet Li, given a love interest that he appears to fall in love with, and more explosions constitutes a story? Come on now.

They are called trailers, action films are marketed that way as you well know, so you come on man, read some of the actual articles about the plot, how the girl figures in, the way he is betrayed, how he is created.

I have read the articles. Nothing about it interests me and from what I've read, seen, and heard it just strays too far from what 47 is actually about.

It's an action movie for christ sakes, ppl don't want to spend 20 minutes knowing who the guy with the 2 ballers is. the idea is to explain how he came to be and then move into the story itself.
The love interest has more to her than that if you'd read. Him moving around more is because this is a movie, in the games he moves like he is glued to a square with little to no high end animation on his action movements, so of course they made him actually move properly and be more interesting than he is in the game as far as action goes. Notice he is as cool as ice during all the action and outsmarts his pursuers.

I understand the character as well, it's another stock killer character and they have altered some things, seriously, this is why us fanboys are the laughing stock we are.

It tweaks his for the "would be badassess" stuff to make him accessible, plus it's a movie, they need to work fresh and not simply stick the by the numbers source on the screen.

So when are the reviews going to start showing up. Please don't tell me that they decided not to screen it for critics. :(

^I hope not. :down

LastSunrise, I think you should see the movie before you judge anymore.
Don't wait until tomorrow, read some reviews, then bash. Go see it, then bash it if you thought it was horrible.

I admit that I defended Constantine because I THOUGHT it would've stayed true to the graphic novels. Granted it was a decent film, but definitely not what I wanted in terms of Dangerous Habits.

Plus I never really said Constantine would be a good movie, I do remember saying it would be number one at the box office. However, when push came to shove the director/writers didn't understand the character of Constantine or the themes around him.

As for Hitman? The film does indeed look like crap. Looks like a mindless action film with some nice homage shots to the game. Nothing more nothing less.

I'm just ****ing with you because I like being a dick sometimes (Constantine = Crap though):D Hitman looks all right though it seems to be a bit early to call it crap, wait for the reviews, trailers are just trying to advertise it to the Pre-Teen crowd.

I'm still gonna check it out, screw the reviewers.

After careful consideration I'll give it a shot. It's the least I can do since I'm a huge fan of the games. While I still don't agree with the casting, the changes, and what appears to be just endless action I'll see it since I work at the theater and will see it for free.

Like I said before I'm a huge fan of the games. I love them. Quite possibly my main favorite games right next to Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy VII, and God of War. So hopefully it's a film that lives up to being faithful to the Hitman concept.

so is the movie going to be an hour and 40 minutes long?

I don't like Timothy Olyphant as 47, either, but I'll just have to wait and see if he does the role justice. I like the games, too, so there will be a slight bias when I see this, too.

Btw, a God of War or Metal Gear film would be sweet. If a studio other than FOX or the Weinsteins get the rights, I'll be all for it.

That's over 100 min, so that's long enough for me. :D
