So, I usually have a Grinch thread that I resurrect yearly... but this year is extra special in it's *meh*ness, so I figured I'd do the injustice of lumping them all into this one thread.

So, if you would care to join me in not rejoicing, this is the place to do it.

This is the place to drink Haterade and speak ill-like about the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year holidays. Those who need not participate in these extremely commercialized excuses for humanity to touch each other in ways they normally would not during the normal year, are welcome to trash/smack talk their own little talks of smack/trash in here.

Come one, come all, but stay only if you like the undecorated walls and tree-less adorned rooms.

Down with all these lights and good cheer... who needs it. *drinks a drink just to drink*

*disclaimer* All self loathing will be taken as adding to the (non)festivity of the thread... highly encouraged.

*disclaimer #2* Happy people are open to die-in-a-fire-like comments.

I'm full of angry feelings this Thanksgiving Eve.

I'm working on Christmas Eve and Christmas, and pretty much that entire week, as well as the weekend. Bah humbug.

I work every major holiday this year. But I don't mind, I really am not that big a fan of most holidays.

FYI... I'll be donning my usual Grinch avatar in non-celebration of all that is joyous and happy. If I weren't being forced into going to a Thanksgiving dinner tonight... I'd be absolutely **** faced right now.

I dislike this time of year. It can be very annoying to have to listen and deal with people at times and dealing with their cheery behaviour. I am becoming more considerate. I'm usually alone during the holidays. Sure I'm with family but I just need some traquility....alot of it.

I would jump on the hate bandwagon I usually dislike holidays but this coming Thanksgiving I will be spending it with a lady friend of mine. I hope you all have a happy turkey day. :)

Feel this appropriate for this thread:

:awesome:

(I'm for the holidays though, but since you guys consider yourselves Grinches. Might as well have your theme songs in the thread. :P)

Things about the holiday seasons that irk me:

Oh... what do I hate about Christmas? The gift exchanging? The blinding, electricity hogging lights? The dirty, drunken mall Santas? The Eggnog w/zero alcohol in it? The kids who get way better presents than you ever dreamed of getting as a kid? The girls who wear too much clothing because its not summertime anymore?

Yes... all these and moar.

January 2nd is a day that I love! Can't wait util it is over.

I made this for you, knowsbleed, so you can sing it to that classic Christmas song tune when everyone else is caroling the corny version.

It's the most depressing time of the year.
With the kids being greedy,
And everyone forcing you,
to "Be of good cheer,"
It's the most depressing time of the year.

There'll be parties to puke at,
Marshmallows to fatten you and
Shivering out in the snow.
There'll be itchy, ugly hats and
Tales of the family mishaps of Christmases
Long, long ago.

It's the most depressing time of the year.
There'll be much crying and aching
And hearts will be breaking
When "loved" ones are near.
It's the most depressing time of the year.

where do you guys work that makes you have to come in on holidays?

for the record, i actually dressed up as the grinch one year. lol. Take that you little kid b@#$%^!!

I love the holiday season more than any other time of the year but I'll have to agree on this point. When I go shopping and see the amazing toys that kids get today, I get jealous.

An amusing thing to do in Japan:

Call any unmarried Japanese woman you know who's over the age of 25 "Christmas cake". It's fun and hilarious.

I don't even get gifts on Xmas anymore, the only good part is the food.

I hate the early planning. Early Nov people begin to put up decorations now, stores have Christmas songs playing and people don't **** about gifts....All for one day....

I work all holidays, and get paid holiday pay- so that's what I like about holidays. The days mean nothing.

It's a particularly depressing time for any of us who work in retail.

You know what I got for Christmas this year? It was a banner ****in' year at the old Knowsbleed family. I got a carton of cigarettes. The old man grabbed me and said "Hey. Smoke up Knowsy."

“If I could work my will every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips, should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart.”

My sentiments exactly.

The only thing I don`t like about this time of year is the approaching arrival of snow. I hate snow.

We don't get snow....Rain, lots of rain. Wanna trade?
