Justice League The Home Release Thread - Hopes & possible fears

Dude, I'm pretty sure that scene is in the movie. I remember seeing it for crying out loud. :funny:

He goes to the apartment, sees everything in disarray, and then the parademon pops up from behind and lunges at him.

I saw it too. The audience in my theater gasped when that parademon popped up (even though it'd been in the trailers)

oh yeah... I stand corrected. (just watched the scene and checked)

which scene are you most bummed they took out? Mine has to be a tie between the league (sans Aquaman) walking up the stairs all badass with Batman leading the way and the scene where tactical suit batman pulls the lever in the flying fox and makes sparks fly... wait... three-way tie actually... I'm equally bummed they removed the scene of Bruce tossing the quindent to Arthur as they get ready for the final battle.

I'm sure that was supposed to be a montage of them getting ready for battle.

Flash does his yoga pose, Batman throws the quindent to Aquaman, Cyborg transforms his other hand into a gun, WW takes out her sword, and Batman hits the lever, and that segues into the epic shot we saw in the movie of them coming out of the flying fox with all the smoke.

Would have been something special with the Junkie XL music.

That shot of Bruce tossing the quindent was the so badass and symbolic. Humans and Atlantians working together again, as well as humans and gods since Arthur is such an obvious Poseidon analog. It's also just a cool-ass shot and shows how Bruce can hold his own despite not having powers. In a few seconds, it does a lot to communicate and validate Batman's presence on the team and his position as leader and head honcho. This kind of decoding is what we did with BVS for over a year... hell we still do it. Now, with JL, we're relegated to doing it with deleted scenes. Sad times... :csad:

Batman was definitely given the short end of the stick in this movie. I understand that he has regrets, and the others need their time to shine, but he completely lost his intimidating edge (that they so beautifully built up in BvS with that first scene clinging to the wall), and looked more like a duck out of water. The one line I didn't like from Ezra's Flash was siding with WW during their fight, in order to prop her up he had to be incredibly disrespectful to the man who recruited him. He should've just kept silent.

Listen, we all know what needs to happen for this Home video release. Even if it takes 20 years, we all know what needs to be done.

Anyone know how well the BVSUC sold?

I'd imagine that'd be good info to know if WB would bother to release a director's cut

Well now that the Alex Ross inspired poster/banner is updated with Supes, I guess that puts to rest one of my possible fears of having a Supes-less cover art.

Around $75 million. Just edges out Civil War, which is surprising because how popular CW is and is part of an established popular franchise, while BvS is not any of that.

JL can get to $90-$100M if they do this right.

Just goes to show regardless of reception, how powerful the DC Trinity and its pantheon of heroes still are compared to Marvel. It's a shame WB **** the can on this universe. Otherwise, if they actually did this right, combined with the almost mythic status of the Trinity and JL, this could've blown everything else out of the water and be THE CBM universe for the ages. But alas, even gods fall sometimes. Let's hope they can pick themselves up and fulfill their potential.

WB isn't going to pump more money into this movie by making a director's cut. The version that Snyder showed the execs late last year was far from finished, and they all apparently thought it wasn't that good.

If a "Snyder Cut" were to happen (and it's not gonna), it would probably have to happen on Zack's own dime (and that's only IF the studio agrees to it). And as a working professional, he probably wants to be compensated for his efforts.

It's more likely we get an extended cut than we are to get a Snyder cut.

But hey, Snyder liked the petition and both Clay Enos and Fabian Wagner are in favor of the original cut, so who knows.

Oliver Harper has, over the years, made and recorded a variety of quality retrospectives of films we all love (check them out on you tube), here is his (he presents) with colleagues, of review and how to re-structure....

I couldn’t watch it the guy in the Justice League T-shirt was just going on for way too long. Btw I have the same T-shirt haha

Love Oliver Harper though, his retrospectives are superb.

I am currently still watching it. Oliver & Burger King t-shirt guy , t'other chap is a MASSIVE gooseberry within the context of the three of them. As a review come discussion piece, it works as a 'pub chat'. Next time though Oliver, don't invite 'chatty chap'.

Even if WB releases a bad cover art, just make your own.

At this point, I'm going to say there's a 0% chance we get the true "Zack Snyder cut" of JL, if such a cut even exists -- especially since there's a 100% certainty that Snyder himself WILL NOT be a part of it.

At best, we'll get a Suicide Squad-esque "extended edition" with a few additional scenes and character beats tossed back in.

yea i think this is the best we can hope for at this point.

anything more would be considered a miracle.

Yeah, I firmly believe that Whedon himself had a longer cut of the film with more of Zack's footage that he was forced to cut down and I think the best we can hope for is that we get that version of the film.

yea, it's a half glass full situation for me.
not a perfect movie, but a greatly fun one. if they can add back some deleted scenes that help with the story, then i'm all for it. reshoots and all.
