Anybody here planning on checking out The Bye Bye Man today?
I was originally going to say you know those high school short projects that teenagers do sometimes? Well, this is another one of those. No. I have personally seen better high school short films more creative than this. The Bye Bye Man isnt just bland, but its insultingly bland. I dont question how it was released to a silver screen because we get horror films similar to this released every year. Last year we had The Forest. 2015 we had The Gallows. What angers me is that last year was a damn near great year for horror with every film at least trying to put a new and creative spin on similar formulas. 2016 we had Lights Out which was creative. 2015 we had Unfriended which was albeit not scary, enticing throughout. This film, The Bye Bye Man is neither creative or enticing enough to be a competent horror movie. Its just another lame diversion aimed at 13-year-old middle schoolers who never saw a real good horror movie wanting to get a cheap thrill.

I saw it yesterday the same day as I saw Sleepless and Monster Trucks.
Boy was it terrible AF.

Decided to go back and re-examine Rob Zombie's two Halloween films. While the first is nowhere near perfect, I still honestly believe his second entry is the best addition to the series since the original. Obviously none of the sequels hold a candle to the original (very few horror movies do) but it actually makes sense of the whole brother/sister angle between Myers & Laurie. Not to mention it realistically handles the aftermath of how someone (Laurie) would deal with such trauma, and how damaged she'd be as a result.

so did Halloween H2O. there's nothing wrong with your opinion. but i'll stick to Halloween I, II, and H2O being one complete and perfect trilogy. Zombie's take is as lame as the thorn cult, imo.
Dirty bearded hobo Myers who talks and fantasizes about his dead mother and white horses, sell out a-hole Dr. Loomis, and druggy drunk *****y Laurie was worse than H6.
Happy 30th Anniversary to Dario Argento's Suspiria which opened exactly 30 years ago today in Italy.

It's only 30? Wow, why did I think that was a 70s film?
Happy 40th Anniversary to Dario Argento's Suspiria which opened exactly 30 years ago today in Italy.
There's nothing wrong with the way H20 portrays it, although that's only one way of presenting a severely traumatic individual, Zombie's interpretation is another. I'm not saying one is more accurate than the other, just that Zombie doesn't get the due credit.
And I'm sorry but no, nothing Zombie did is as bad as having Michael being the father of his own nephew (also making him a pedophile) and suddenly being able to be stopped by runes. Gotdamn runes, man.![]()
we're still just talking degrees of crappiness. I don't acknowledge the runes storyline. but I might actually take it over girly-looking-kid-turned-Sabretooth-but-w/-mommy-fixation Shape. Zombie completely defanged the character. he wasn't a "shape." he was a white zombie roadie having a bad day.
Yeah, because all of that is seriously worse than turning Michael into a pedophile.![]()
Only bandwagon hate would seriously have anyone believe that Zombie's installments are worse (or anywhere near as bad as) H5, H6 & Resurrection.
Yeah it is, because it's defiling not one but three major Halloween characters.
Bandwagon hate for Letoker, now this. You need to come up with a new, not to mention plausible excuse for why people hate things you like.
