The Horror Thread - Part 7

Don't know if I asked this here already or not but I'm gonna ask anyway.

When I was younger I saw a movie that started on a highway in a mountainous area and people riding motorcycles, a biker gang. This gang was then run down by an 18 Wheeler semi truck and they were turned into ground beef. They then cut to a funeral for one of the women who were riding on the back of a motorcycle. She was wearing a white wedding dress in a glass coffin and her face was stitched up to put it back together.

I have no idea what this movie is and it's been stuck in the back of my mind for years now and I just wanna know what it is or if I just made it up and I need to write the rest of this movie.

The Cleansing Hour was decent for the most part. I'm generally over the whole possession movie but it was an interesting take.

Looking forward to seeing what role Kyle Gallner has in Scream 5.

Between The Cleansing Hour and Ghosts of War I also can't wait to see what Kyle Gallner does next either. The dude has always been a really solid actor IMO and even if the movies he was in weren't all that great like The Nightmare On Elm Street remake or Jennifer's Body he was never the problem.

Really looking forward to his role in Scream 5.

1. Sleepy Hollow
2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
3. Hush
4. Summer of 84
5. One Cut of the Dead
6. The Hills Have Eyes (1977)
7. The Pool
8. Day of the Dead
9. The Thing (1982)
10. The Last House on the Left (1972)

Maybe its one of those?

Just watched Hubie Halloween and I have to say my fears were fine within the first few minutes, I absolutely loved it. It may be the most Halloweeny Halloween set Film I’ve ever watched. It was quite funny too, with all layers of humour within. Would recommend to folk who are fans of the Halloween holiday for sure.

I love it too, infact it’s the only Texas Chainsaw film I like. I find the original does nothing for me, the sequels are awful, the sequel to the remake is awful, the 3D reboot sequel thing is awful...well you get the gist. But the 2003 film, has a more gothic vibe to it than any of the others and Leatherface in this feels much more of a badass, more Jason like. I get that he’s meant to be a bit of a bafoon in the original series but that just doesn’t work for me and is a big reason I don’t like those films.

12. House of Wax(2005)

I had the movie worse in my memory.
Wasnt it mainly promoted with "The movie with paris hilton?" or "The movie where paris hilton gets killed...and runs around in her underwear"?

Either way, it was decent...could be because of the idea, im easy when it comes to that.
If i watch a movie with a cool idea, i can look over many ****ty things.
It was fine, forgotten 30 minutes after watching it, but i didnt hated every minute of it.

The House of Wax remake is pretty underrated IMO. It's not one of my favorite remakes or anything, but I always enjoyed it and its a decent early 2000's slasher flick.

You can definitely tell they spent a lot of money on it too, because the production design is pretty impressive, especially the finale towards the end where the whole house starts melting.

When i put it in and it ran, i suddenly stood there like "wait, thats not so bad...i remembered it worse."
It didnt blew me away but it was enjoyable enough, its not a movie i regret having in my collection.

At worst its forgettable, but it never gets to the point where i would say its downright bad.
The final still holds up really well, the house melting looks so nice and you feel the urgency and all.
The Action is a bit weak especially in the final act, but the effects with the whole theme, work out nicely.

12. 30 Days of Night

Is that one any good? I still havent watched it despite it being on my list for some time now.
Maybe its the right time to see for myself.

30 Days of Night is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy a good old fashioned vampire flick where the vamps are actually horrifying, merciless monsters. I honestly wish we got more of those down the line, but once Twilight came out like a year later the big studios just didn't seem all that interested anymore.

Which is funny in itself as David Slade went onto direct the Twilight sequel, Eclipse.

I've heard similar things as well, but I have suffered enough watching those movies and I really have no interest in ever seeing it even if its from the director of Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night.

David Slade also directed one of my favorite horror shorts from last year.

Im always loving the pacing and tension that builds over the course of the movie.
Such a good movie.

Such a good movie.
The movie is about a week older than I am. It's aged a hell of a lot better than I have.

So Bly Manor dropping threw off my schedule a lot. I'm thinking I'll wind up counting it as 3 or 4 days to correlate to how many movies I'd fit into the same amount of time. But in the meantime, I also added

1. Sleepy Hollow
2. As Above, So Below
3. The Evil Dead
4. The Limehouse Gollum
5. Vampires vs. The Bronx
6. Cabin in the Woods
7. Hubie Halloween

8. Ghost Stories (2017)

I really got on a kick of movies that derail in the final act. I'm so torn on what I think of this. Good performances all around, and the three titular stories all have great premises. But each installment brings diminishing returns. Each story cuts off at the climax, right when it's getting REALLY good, and that climax comes sooner and sooner, each story shorter than the last. The first was some of the spookiest stuff I've seen yet this year, but the rest of the movie failed to live up with it. And the conclusion was just a hot mess. I want to rate it higher, but the sum of the parts is worth less than the individual pieces. 3/5

9. 1BR (2019)

Having been disappointed by almost all the new additions to my list, I was very happy when this bucked the trend. It's not really scary, at least not for me, but a great psychological thriller powered by a stellar performance from Nicole Bloom. It's fairly simple, not a ton to unpack, but all around very well-executed on pretty much every level. It didn't really "stick" with me, personally, but there's not really anything to complain about. 4/5

14. Train to Busan

Neat, with this i think i saw every kind of zombie movie that there is.
Well i havent seen one with Zombies in a plane, but then...i dont watch every zombie movie out there.
The Zombie theme was way too overused imo way too fast.
I got tired of them pretty much, hell i havent even watched TWD farther than i think season 2.
I think the last episode i watched, was where this Girl that Daryl liked, died...that sucked because i liked her...could have been the last straw...but its way too long and i cant be 100% when i dropped TWD.

Anway, i seem to still find enjoyment in the asians doing zombie movies, this and alive were really enjoyable to me.

31 Nights of Halloween (yes, I'm still doing this)

01. Repulsion
02. The Cabin in the Woods
03. Night of the Creeps
04. The Tingler
05. Bloodsucking Bastards
06. Vampires vs The Bronx
07. The Blob '88
08. Don't Let Them In
09. Silent Night, Bloody Night
10. The Evil Dead

Boy, have I fallen behind or what? I've stretched myself way too thin with this, Inktober, Jacktober, exercise and work.

The only horror type movie i know with biker, is psychomania.
Maybe its one of those?
