The Hulk comics cannon?

I've read a lot of Spidey. The 80's and early 90's stuff (before it went to hell). I've been happy with BND, but it pisses me off how they got there (I don't even now if some of my most of the stories I loved still exists in the Marvel world?!

I’m curious about Hulk and if they made a "Brand new day" type thing - And if some of my favourite stories like Peter David's run have been erased?

when peter david returned for 'tempest fugit', it was revealed that nightmare has been messin' with hulk for quite a while. some of his life experiences may have been real or not. the ones that are confirmed are his encounters with abomination and absorbing man during the bruce jones run(the jones run is mostly crap), and the devil hulk is pretty much gone, too. basically, nothing is safe in between the peter david runs. and betty is still dead and not a secret agent with plastic surgery. so, this new device allows writers and readers to decide ultimately what's real and what's not.

But then again that was a lot of history that never happened. Really would suck if they could literally wipe away any event in hulks history. Luckily we know planet hulk and later happened.
