Enjoy.

It's not animated, but I love this one:

Glad it's getting solid reviews.
we dont know that. right now they are allowed to post short tweets. they can only writte if they like it or not. but you can like a movie and give it a 6 or 7/10. maybe the movie had big problems in the middle. maybe there is not a lot from the games and action.

about jennifer. she is so good that somtimes its scary. the first act is so emotional that with her talents its impossible to fail. now i only hope and pray that the second and third act are also good and that the story will flow. the worst that could happen is that after the good first act they can not top it.

Can you please stop ignoring the fact that I only have probably said this twice to you? It's called THE HUNGER GAMES. People have told you NUMEROUS times that the novel that this is an adaption of takes 80 percent in the games. It'd be literally impossible to adapt that novel and not have a majority of the movie take place there.

It seems to me ppl just don't want to give the film any credit where it's due. There are a ton of fan tweets and critic tweets raving about this film. Those tweets do not read like 6/10 reviews. They read like 7/10 at the lowest. Obviously, there won't be a final consensus until the embargo has been lifted, but the word of mouth is very promising and exhilarating.

Not to mention, one tweeter said after the Games begin its non-stop action/anticipation from there on out and that the violence is tastefully done.

My only concern are the Tracker Jackers and Muttations. No one has said a single thing about them so I'm very interested on how they're pulled off in the movie.

Yeah I'm also cautious about the look and the quality of the CGI when it comes to trackerjackers and the muttations.

Josh talked about the tracker jacker scene saying he wanted the fans to see it.

Well I'm glad he wants us to see it, but is it any good?! If he really wants us to see it why doesn't he invite us to the movies to watch it with him, huh? What, he's too good for us now? The boy with the bread is making tons of bread so he doesn't even have the decency to invite us now? PSHHHHHH.

:P

Dude I'm sorry but seriously u'd rather have the Tracker Jacker scene spoiled just from what people tell you? Go see the movie urself and hopefully enjoy that scene. There hasn't been anybody talking about it because right now I'm sure Critics and fans can't give full reviews just yet.

Kickass was just kidding.

Did Cinna make the styling for Jennifer? :oldrazz:

She looks absolutely stunning, love the dress and the make-up.

The Hunger Games has already done what Twilight completely failed to do....appeal to a male audience.

Why don't we wait to see how this movie performs.

The only people that we can honestly say are excited for this are the ones who read the books and a few critics that posted some comments on twitter last night.

If it's as good as people are saying, I'm sure the GA might go to see it due to good word of mouth, but there isn't enough evidence to show that this movie is appealing to the male members of the GA yet.

HG fansite The Hob got to see the film. They loved it and gave some spoilers about the film and what differences there were between the book vs. movie.

Just don’t expect things to take as long as they did in the books, especially in the Games themselves. For example, it doesn’t take Katniss very long to find Peeta when he’s in the river.

The aesthetic changes (like jacket color) weren’t something we focused on, but the changes weren’t really plot changes either since they didn’t affect the overall story. But they were changes like making something happen quicker than it did in the book simply to save time. Though there were some scenes that actually happened a bit differently, like the bread scene (don’t freak out) or the number of parachutes that Katniss receives.

Without giving anything away, we can say that this movie could potentially stand alone, but the very final scene definitely hints that something is coming.

there is something they add at the end of Rue’s death that really made me cry - Reaction in District 11. Heartbreaking.

On the question of whether pre-Game and Game is a 50-50 split - Hard to tell since I didn’t have a watch and they took away our phones, but I think they spent a bit more time on the Games.

The tracker jacker scene was AWESOME. Both the CGI and just the way it was filmed. Fantastic scene. CGI overall was good – not overly noticeable or distracting.

But no, no Gale in the Capitol or Peeta at the feast ;) And yes, a certain cat was definitely seen the film…

The mutts looks really good, but you didn’t really see them super close up and it was night time.

Yes, the score was perfect. Really added drama to a lot of scenes. No music from the soundtrack – that we noticed – was included in the film itself. And if it was, it wasn’t a part of the song that had lyrics.

they showed a few tributes killing other tributes in violent/bloody ways, but didn’t go over the top by being too gruesome. You definitely knew what was happening and the intensity of kids killing other kids.

Buttercup, yes. Lady is mentioned, but they don’t tell the story.

On Glimmer's body - It looked great! Very close to what we imaged from the book.

On the Clove/Thresh scene - It was actually done a bit differently, but still intense. Isabelle Fuhrman was AWESOME as Clove. Very menacing and easy to hate. Her death was done very well, just not exactly the same as the book.

We definitely cringed a few times because of the violence, but overall it was shown in a way that wasn’t too bloody or gruesome.

On Katniss buying the pin from the Hob - Right – and then Prim gives it back to her before she leaves for the Games.

Yes, Rue’s death was perfect. Amandla and Jennifer both gave very emotional performances during that scene.

Many of the Tributes received little screen time, but we did see a lot of the careers, Foxface, Thresh and Rue, both at the training center and during the Games.

They showed quick clips of some of the Tributes interviews – Glimmer, Rue and a couple others – but the majority of the interview scenes were focused on Katniss and Peeta.

Let’s just say the cave scene was awesome, and we’re all now in love with Josh Hutcherson.

Jackie had more screen time in the games than many of the Tributes, but we don’t remember her having any lines. Still, she pulled off the sneaky Foxface very well.

Yes, Katniss burns her leg, gets the gash above her eye and loses her hearing in her hear (though that last one isn’t really emphasized in the movie).

alot of those same tweets are from same people who gave positive tweets to JC and then we later saw all those negative critics reviews pour in

so dont get too happy yet

Exactly.

A lot of the critics that get to go to these "fan showings" are the ones that happily eat up stuff like John Carter and in this case a sudo sci-fi film like The Hunger Games. Worship and praise is expected from fan sites like Aint' It Cool News as an example. The main critics like Ebert, well that's a toss up.

My guy feeling says otherwise. JC was an unfortunate situation. JC is not the rule but the exception. And I'll even add I didn't think JC was anywhere as bad as people said. I thought it was quite an entertaining ride.

Not gonna read those The Hob spoilers, wanna find out some things when I see the film. Differences, how they did certain scenes, how they paced it etc.

So if Ebert hates it but AICN loves it, Ebert is the one to be trusted? How exactly is that right or fair in any way? There are tons of movies I hate that both of those critics loved.

Well, do you take fellow geeks reviews more seriously than professional critics?

you should never trust an AICN review. read reviews from 10 different critics and SHH .

When it comes to a movie like this the most important opinions for me are from fellow lovers of the book.

As I previously said, most of those geek sites eat up films like these. Meaning they are usually most likely to give those geek type films positive reviews. It's not always guaranteed, but it's accurate enough to where I would put money on it.

Doesn't mean you can always trust Ebert or the other more professional critics, but they tend to go in with out the nerd excitement.
