I actually thought they did more with Haymitch in the movies versus the books. I really got a sense of his biterness and anger from his reaction to the Capitol children play-fighting the Hunger Games. I also liked the scene showing how he collected sponsors for Katniss.
On a sidenote, I'm going to get all Twi-hardy (I don't care much for Twilight but I dont hate it, it gets kids to read) and say that I am Team Peeta. My gf on the other hand is team Gale. This is my reasoning:
Team Peeta = it's the woman's job to take care of their man
Team Gale = it's the man's job to take care of the family.
I also want to add that this Hunger Games is one of those examples where criticizing something (cheesy romances to cater to audiences) actually kind of promotes it.
Better take that crap down the block.
