I've been here for years, but I don't post much. I usually prefer to just read the forums, read people's opinions on different things, and leave it at that. But I would be lying if I said I didn't gravitate towards the arguments/fights/political disagreements/wars. Some crazy stuff happens here. And no entertainment is better than free entertainment.

Disneyfication - a term used to describe the Hype's attempt to become more family-friendly. This term has been used mostly against such attempts and by older posters who were here during the Spider-Man Hype days.

The uninspired original ending of Mass Effect 3 (pre-dlc fix) angered that member so much he posted the ending before anyone else played it, it caused him to have a probationary ban, then coming in with a new name to PM the ending to everyone gave him a perma-ban, by Matt
That move inspired some to nominate Spock "Villain (d*** of the year) 2012", and Matt as Moderator of the same year

It would be very hard for Jamie to go up against that for Villain of the Year.

Cavillitis - a term used to describe the effect actor Henry Cavill's beauty has on Hypesters both male and female. Many heterosexual male posters have cited symptons of admitting his attractiveness without the obligatory 'no homo' afterwards.

The 'Gemma Arterton is My Mother' Incident - An incident that occured when actress Gemma Arterton was gaining supporters in the Wonder Woman Thread for the coveted role of the Amazon Princess. After several pictures of Gemma littered the thread, poster Rodrigo## thought it was appropriate to exclaim the actress bore a striking resemblance to his mother to which he could not support the actress as Wonder Woman as it fell into semi-creepy territory as he had wanted someone he could find sexually attractive for the role. Most posters will use the incident as a friendly jab at Rodrigo's expense.

The muses have taken me:

Cowlgate - When Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. released the first picture of Anne Hathaway's Catwoman many fans reacted quite negatively towards the image. The image consisted of Anne Hathaway wearing a catsuit with a pair of googles covering her eyes riding the Batpod. This led to a certain journalist claiming the picture was of 'Woman' not Catwoman. This eventually proceeded to a debate as to whether Selina's costume was going to get 'upgraded' with a cowl and whip like in the comics and resulted with one poster citing the casting of Hathaway was horribe and Lady Gaga should have been cast instead. It lasted for many months until the reveal of the 'Goggle-Ears' quelled most debates regarding the suit.

Maluka

A poster who was very unabashed about her obsession with celebrities. She made her first appearance in the Batman casting thread when she over and over kept on wanting to cast Matt Bomer. Her activities were laid to rest when Warner Bros. made a controversial casting with Ben Affleck as Batman. Maluka then came back to SHH! after the creation of the Henry Cavill Appreciation Thread. There, she mixed in pics of Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill along with posts that other posters had fun with but also felt very uncomfortable responding to. Tom Cruise was also another obsession of hers, claiming she could change his belief in Scientology. Maluka was later on banned due to posting inappropriate gifs and images of Henry Cavill, including one where he was butt naked. Maluka was a poster who just couldn't hold her obsession of handsome celebrities in. Her remains can be found in the Henry Cavill Appreciation Thread.

The Tom Welling vs. The World Casting Debate - In 2010, when Warner Bros. announced they were rebooting the Superman film franchise, many Smallville fans rallied together in support of them casting actor Tom Welling for the role of the Man of Steel despite the actor proclaiming never wanting to put on the suit. This caused major friction amongst the Superman fans as they believed he wasn't worthy to play a film incarnation of the character and wanted actors such as Jon Hamm to play the role. This resulted in flame wars revolving the quality of the Smallville series and of Henry Cavill's sexuality. It began to cease only when Henry Cavill's first image as Superman was released.

The reaction to the announcement was extremely mixed from the Batman fanbase, but general audiences reacted quite negatively to the point several hate tweets were posted after the fact. A reaction no one had seen since Keaton's casting of the Caped Crusader that garnered so much attention that wife Jennifer Gardner and friend Matt Damon had to come to Affleck's defense.
