who the **** is roy?

A troll from the old CINO forums. He was a rather enthusiastic supporter of the film in the many months leading up to it's release, and was a rather vocal Halle Berry sycophant as well. He'd post off topic with some rant in support of the film or Halle (usually "Halle is hawt!"), had terrible spelling and grammar, and managed to get himself banned and then come back with a new username (usually something like "roy4Halle" or some other variation that included the name "roy" in it) well over 30 times. He got accused of being a studio plant by some of the CINO forum members and tried to play up to that. The reality is that he was too stupid to really be a studio plant, though. He was, however, the bane of TruthTeller's existence for awhile.

I haven't seen it so far on here... man-spider.

Avatar- Common in many internet forums, an avatar is a picture displayed under a user's name and title. It must be a certain size (though you can have a slightly larger one when you reach 5,000 posts), and can either be a regular picture, or a moving .gif. Many Hype members are known by their avatars, and certain others have become known for being avatar-making specialists. 'Avvy' is a common abbreviation.

I believe it was addressed in an entry about a troll, but here goes:

Man-Spider: A term used by detractors of the "Spider-Man" films on the Hype who do not believe that they portray their popular namesake hero, generally due to the fact that he has organic, as opposed to self-made, web-shooters.

No roy has the record with over 30 names, as a matter in fact roy deserves his own entry.

I never said Spider-Freddie has that record. SF is the only person to have an account banned after 1 non-rule breaking post.

Also see; Mr.Parker, bakerboy entries.

There should really be a "Hype wiki" or something.

Batman Vs Spider-man - one of the funniest arguements I've ever read in my entire life. The Batman logic still numbs my brain.

Batman Vs. Wolverine is a close second.
BATMAN VS. SPIDERMAN - A long debate on the forums that spawned many polls, ranging from Alfred vs. Aunt May, to Christian Bale's Wife (Forgot her name) vs. Tobey Macquire's girlfriend. (Forgot her name)

PREP TIME - The idea that a person (Most notably batman) can beat anyone with time to prepare and plan. People would often post "Batman w/ preptime" in every "VERSUS" thread, even if it didn't involve batman

Actually, roy got insta-banned a couple of times after creating a new account (with some variant of "roy" embedded in the name), making one post and then getting reported and banned before he could make another post. So, SF isn't the only one to have that distinction.

THE GAMES FORUM - A section of the hype that for a while went completly unmoderated. It developed it's own community, which would pull stunts a like invade an unused section, renaming it the "Spam forum". Most notable of the regulars there, was Don't Read This or "DRT", who happened to be several regulars, without anyone knowing.

I already did the first one and the second one is pretty mild.

GweMJ-A term used when reffering to the character of Mary Jane Watson in the 'Spider-Man' films, due to the fact that some believe she has characteristics of the comic book character of another one of Spider-Man's girlfriends,Gwen Stacy, rather than the comic book version of Mary Jane Watson.

Shadaloo: A group of organized spammers. Their 'leader' was E. Bison, who often posted a picture of "Street Fighter" character M. Bison in his posts.
Come on now, you can do better than that

DOG LIPS: A Hype member known for his off-kilter stories in the Fan Fiction and Films forum, which are almost exclusively based on members of the Hype (though he did start a Santa Claus/"Aliens" crossover). His "Hype Zombie Apocalypse" was extremely popular while he was writing it. In the fall of 2005, DOG LIPS stated that he'd be spending time away from the Hype, saying he'd be gone for a month or so. As the time exceded a month, it was widely assumed that he'd left completely. Worship of DOG LIPS as some sort of Fan Fic messiah began, and several other writers began imitating his style. In late November/early December of that year, another poster named BEER claimed at one point to be DOG LIPS under a different name, though this was untrue. Shortly after, however, the real DOG LIPS returned, pleasantly surprising the many people who thought he would be gone for good.

DL was the founder of The Manties Squad.

What was tpb?

Also commonly linked to sites: ytmnd and stormfront.
I think it was NOFX who started a movement by posting a link to stormfront and various posters flamed it.

I never encountered roy. I never felt like venturing into the CINO forums to see the idiot posts. Freddie is the only one I remember getting banned after 1 post.

Things that need definitions: SHH! controversy (I remember the last few when I first started posting)
