1.Rap and Hip Hop culture probabley doesn't help the "black image" but its one of the most popular images of black people. Also even though its thought of as black music its listened to people of all races across the world.

nearly ever country has their own rap or hip hop influnced groups. Be it in france, japan, Australia, Germany, ect

2.I know a hell of a lot of Black familes that do. Being black alone is used as an empthasis that you need to succeed because of the negativity attributed to the race.

Music industry for women is based more on marketability than talent. I very attractive but not very good singer can sell a lot of records. A overweight black women who is an amazing singer is to record execs not marketable.
