Vent A Frustration Thread

First off, thank you for the compliment above.

I did go there but there is nothing to do and she does not want to stay all day in bed. She likes the nature and doing things which I do not enjoy. Things like taking care of the flower bed she has and cooking. If it was not a 5 hour dive I could see myself going there for the weekend to make her happy but a whole week being bored out of my mind is a bit too much. I was happy to come back after spending 4 days there.

Regarding romance, I do my best but it is difficult at times and very much in her house which is also in the middle of a compound of Dutch people (there are 5 attached houses) and everyone can see us when we are sitting on her terrace.

I am more the type who likes playing golf or games in general when I am on vacation. The last thing I want to do is set the table or clear it. I do not like domestic work and never did. She loves doing things around the home.

My main point here is the fact that I am not given a choice. I would be more then willing for us to choose together a place we could both enjoy but her house is something she will never sell. I did have her sacrifice a few things to be with me (not money wise but other things that were close to her heart) and I feel as if she wants me to pay for it.

And we do live together where we have no 'help' when we are at home so we do spend ample time together.

Ask her to make a compromise- You go with her to her house for one week and you guys can just sit around together and then for another week you get to go to a lavish hotel someplace exotic?

Two frustrations, currently:

1. Sinus Infections... I finally escape the horrible allergy season when a good frost comes around and I think I'm good to go - that is, until I come down with my annual, ever-lasting sinus infection. Thank you, cold.

2. Expiration Dates... Why must things expire? Why? Why can't they last forever? Today I ate hot dogs. About an hour after doing so, I see that they expired, oh, say... SIX MONTHS AGO?! I'm preparing for the worst... thank God for Pepto.
