The -I Really don't see the appeal of..... Thread

You're not alone. I expressed my disdain for Glee on page 2.

I'll join you in your disdain for Glee & i'll raise you American Idol too. I really don't see what so great about both of those shows.

A teenage Wilson Fisk during his Goth period?

I haven't eaten anything good from Taco Bell since they had Rocky and Bullwinkle peddling their stuff and I just can see the appeal of it, it's so damned gross.

So you basically have both sides of the aisle on nerd-dom. Community (although I dig the show) definitely panders to nerd-culture ("Look! They're referencing something from the 80s!") and Big Bang Theory panders to the general populous with their cliche of nerd-culture.
Community is written by geniuses. Big Bang Theory is written by ******ed barnyard animals.

Oh, don't get me started on American Idol. I can understand maybe watching the beginning of the season to laugh at the people who are terrible at singing. But NOBODY BECOMES FAMOUS FROM WINNING AMERICAN IDOL ANYMORE. Apart from Kelly Clarkson, they've all faded away quickly. The show needs to die.

I like Community. It's well-cast and yes genuinely funny.

But I don't think it's a slice of comic-divinity the online community claims (That would be Arrested Development!) It panders to us nerds because that's basically all who's watching it ("Hey look! An episode where they re-create Goodfellas! And one where they do a full-blown action epic! And one with zombies!")

I love both Community and The Big Bang Theory. There's enough room for both the shows.

In terms of television shows, I don't see the appeal of The Vampire Diaries, 24, and crime procedural shows like CSI, NCIS, Law and Order, etc.

Exactly!!! No one on the show amounted to being good singers, mediocre at best. And yes it needs to die along with Simon Cowell!!

"NO! This is the Internet! You can only love one unabashedly and hate the other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I don't see any appeal in pretty much EVERYTHING on CBS's schedule save How I Met Your Mother. That channel amazes me that it still is afloat because it's schedule is the same crap but with a different cast and on a different night.

The only sitcom I watch (if you want to call it that) is 'Curb your Enthusiasm.' Maybe these other ones are good, but I pretty much gave up on network sitcoms after 'Arrested Development' was canned.

Hey JJJ's Ulcer a little of topic, you should've kept your other avatar. More appealing.

This avatar is Richard Harrow, the WWI vet who is missing half his face in 'Boardwalk Empire'. He is pure badassery.

Yeah I didn't know how popular 2 1/2 Men were. (Pre Charlie Sheen going crazy) I think I read a joke somewhere that only people over 50 liked that show.

The entire CBS ruling TV thing is nothing but over 50s asleep with their TVs on. The only show I have that I see young people talk about is How I Met Your Mother.

It's true. If everyone over the age of 55 were to die tomorrow, CBS's ratings would plummet.

Dance, rave, house, drum and bass, hardcore, happy hardcore, old skool & garage music.

It all sounds the same. how people can dance to it is beyond me.

Oh and Doctor Pepper, it tastes like fizzy cough medicine.

there is nothing even remotely the same sounding between garage rock and dance music. Hell they don't even use the same instruments half of the time.

^lol @ Dr. Pepper. It could pass for carbonated Vicks 44. :o

I don't see the appeal of Charlie Sheen. Why is the American Public fascinated by "over the hill" crackheads?

I don't see the appeal of Hype Censorship either. You could've kept my porn thread up as long as it was serious and friendly. But...no, no, no! *****es. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. The way granny would say it to you if she had a Harley Davidson and looked like Ray Romano's tv mom. :)
