I don't understand the appeal of people ending their sentences in an ellipsis...

I disagree. There is no guarantee that if it happens, you'll have time to think, "Oh well, I sinned without caring my whole life, but now that it comes down to the wire, I'll convert for real this time." A whole heap of people will end up dying/being killed before they could convert, with the reasoning that they had a ton of time and could have turned their life around when they had the chance.
I think it's hard to argue semantics on something like this though, as, even if the bible were the word of god (and I'm not sure it ever was, even if there is a god), it's been edited and added to so many times by outside sources, including sources who were clearly doing it for disingenuous and political reasons.
Yeah, the cognitive dissonance that goes on is weird. My dad, for example, is a physicist, but also religious. If you ask him about evolution, or the big bang, he'll go on and on about how that stuff works, and why they're great theories and plausible, and how he thinks that's what happened, etc. And then later if you ask him if he believes everything in the bible, he'll say yes, including creation. The changes to the Bible are another reason why I don't know that I could ever go back to a church and agree with what was being preached. If a religion says that in order to be a part of it, you must believe everything in the Bible, I don't think I could ever do that again. I did when I was very little and didn't know any better. And why bother to practice a religion if you're going to "pick and choose" what you agree with?
I really don't get the appeal of foursquare.

It's difficult, because when a person says that they believe everything in the Bible, you also have to consider the fact that it is a book with hundreds if not thousands of ways to interpret it. I think that a lot of scientists who are religious would likely say that God created everything and did so through evolution and such. In that case, Genesis just skips over a huge chunk of time by saying "God created the heavens and the earth, etc."
But then you have those who would argue that you have to take the Bible at face value.

Personally, I believe that religion and science go hand and hand. That's how I interpret the Bible at least.
I don't really see the appeal of smoking marijuana. I've done a few times since peer pressure is a motherf***er and yeah, the appeal is just not there for me.
That reminds me of the preacher my church had when I was in middle school (living with parents as a kid = you go to church if they go to church), I actually liked that guy, as he had a much more modern view of it. He preached about most of the bible as being almost purely metaphorical, which probably pissed off a lot of people in the congregation, at least the ones smart enough to understand what a metaphor was (it was in Warner Robins, GA, so probably not that many), and it made the sermon's pretty entertaining and bearable. I still hated singing the damn hymns though. It's difficult, because when a person says that they believe everything in the Bible, you also have to consider the fact that it is a book with hundreds if not thousands of ways to interpret it. I enjoy it.
Don't see the appeal in cigarettes apart from mind-numbing addiction, stink and poor health, what else does it have going for it?

I'm gonna be brutally honest and say i don't see the appeal of going down on a woman, sure i get that it's more for her & i want her to be pleasured. But some guy's really, really love it. I just can't get that into it, like some guys can.
