It was an attempt at a team effort event that didn't synch well between the team(JMS,Hudlin,David).That story arc destroyed the original Peter Parker/Spider-Man.He literally was born again!BND brings Peter back to his pre New Avengers existence...I think?

What a great idea! (Yep, finally checked this thread out!) Looking forward to these now! Too bad I missed BND, it was fun being reminded of the stories from the past couple years.

I'm not the biggest fan JMS's run however, although there are some great issues especially in the beginning.

This thread makes me want to collect variant covers now!

The trick to buying variants is to wait a while until the price comes down.Some comic book shops only get a few variants and they charge outrageous prices. Just wait and compare prices. eBay is a great source for variants at great prices.

I generally don't care for variants, unless I REALLY like the variant, and its offered for the cover price. So I bought both the JRJR and Ross covers for #600, and the original and Granov covers for #612. But those are only on special occassions. I prefer to have the original covers to comics, even if they're not that good.

Agreed...decent spidey quipping and the characterization of a competent member of the Avengers .....not the moron comic relief Bendis portrayed him as

...although if memory serves me correctly, that specific issue was merely a prelude to the "Other" arc as the Hydra story had been all but wrapped up in the previous issue (sans the where will Spidey land cliff hanger )

I donno. For what it's worth there are a lot of villains out there that are rip-offs of other villains.
I really didn't mind this story, I did find the character kind of annoying though.
