Good to see the countdown continues.
Btw, I HATE the fact that we're getting a reobot. And I Mean HATE.

I was and forever will be a big supporter of Raimi's Spider-Man films.

A reboot was inevitable sooner or later. You know the ropes by now - hope for the best, expect the worst.

Whoa! I finally found something Spider-ManHero hates! :wow:

Oh, I know there was gonig to be a reboot sooner or later, but we were suppsoed to get a 4th one.
Yeah, I think that's the thing that caught us all off guard. I don't think any of us at all were just expecting it be this soon.

Glad to see this thread is still going.

So, is the title going to change?

Something like "Scrolling back thru Spidey's lifetime: The ASM covers."

One of my favorite covers of all time. Other than Aunt May knowing his id, him being a teacher is the thing I miss the most in the title.

It really was the perfect job for Peter, and COULD have been a great story generator. Never really utilized to its potential imo.

Wow! It's so interesting to see differing opinions about the character. I HATED the fact Pete became a high school teacher. I thought it was a terrible selection of a career for him. One of the reasons I pretty much hated the JMS years (he is a fine writer, but never portrayed Pete or Spidey in a way I preferred) is that he made him a teacher. We all have our own view of Spider-Man and the man behind the mask.

Aloha,
But isn't GREAT to be on a forum with people who have actually READ these comics and whether we agree or disagree, we can have a (in many cases) well thought out argument pro or con?
I love the HYPE for what it has done for we long standing Spider-Man fans!

I enjoyed his career progress, and it was a respectable career too. At the very least it was better than the research assistant or whatever John Byrne made him.

Wow, I didn't realize we were already into the Mackie era.......

Yes...these were the "dark times".

Conversely, I think Peter Parker Spider-Man wa spretty awesome around this time. This was when Paul Jenkins took over...and it was awesome! Before they started forcing crossover tie-ins and trade paperback padding down his throat.:csad:

Lee Weeks is one of the most underrated artists out there. Seriously, his consistency is better than almost anyone from the ccurrent Spidey-stable. I even picked up the one issue of ASM he did with Roger Stern. It wasn't bad(storywise), but the artwork was very awesome.

Yeah, PPSM #20, Jenkins first issue, was one of the best issues I had read in years.

You'll bwe pleased to hear that Weeks is doing the art for the Roger Stern Juggernaut story in ASM this March or May (I forget)...

:yay:

Yeah, I saw that! Of course, after Dark Knight 2 and "God Loves, Man Kills 2", I'm always hesitant about getting into anything thatmight be a sequel. Still, it sounds like a good romp, so I may check it out.
