I had been reading 'Amazing' for a few months, but this was the first issue of 'Spectacular' I ever bought new. I even remember purchasing it. I was on vacation with my parents in Nantucket island and I got it off the rack of one of those old-fashioned newsstands they just don't seem to have anymore. I was 8 or 9 so I didn't really understand it at the time (it was afterall a psychologically complex story by JM DeMatteis about Peter's guilt), but I still loved it, which goes to show you should never dumb down stories for a younger audience, but instead challenge them to understand deeper stories and themes than they're used to.
