"The Invisible Hand" Discussion Thread

Or maybe Gwen's just so good at hiding her feelings that even May doesn't know about them.

Gwen is gonna have to step up her game once MJ arrives. Girl's jaw will hit the floor when she sees MJ. Bet it.

I'm wondering why May didn't think of plotting with Gwen to get Peter to go with her, instead of MJ. The rationale in the comics is that she knew MJ wasn't really a party girl and she knew pain and tragedy in her life too which was why she thought they'd be a good match, what's May got against Gwen here? Not as expressive?
May is probably biased because Anna Watson is her friend - May and Anna have probably been sitting around talking about their neice and nephew for a while and thinking how nice it would be if they hooked up.

Well, that makes sense. Then again May was A-okay with Peter and Gwen in the comics despite her earlier thinking that MJ would be good for Peter, so it'll likely be the same here.

Well in aunt May's defense, I really think she knew MJ would make a great wife for Peter (she was thinking that far in advance) so I've read in a great article about MJ on Spidey Kicks Butt, aunt May probably saw through her "party girl" facade.

As much as I dreaming Gwen's approaching heartache when she sees MJ and Peter together in the next new ep, we could see MJ in a similar situation if Gwen and Peter end up going out, which I believe is a very strong possibility.

I really enjoyed this episode, and I like how things are starting to come together now. J. Jonah Jameson suddenly having a reason to slander Spider-man...the introduction of MJ...very nice touches, I thought.
I wasn't a big comics fan before; this show really brought me into Spider-Man, and I really have enjoyed the character development so far (especially Eddie Brock and Norman Osborn--Osborn to me screams Willem Dafoe, by the way). I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

What the heck? This one didn't air this week like it was supposed where I am. All I got was the lizard rerun followed by the sandman epsiode rerun which was new last week. I got gipped.

Isn't that spelled with a J?

My thought excatly .

What the hell was with Harry's skeevy smile after he walked out of Norman's office? Did he overhear their conversation?

ep 7 was never meant to air yesterday it was still in post work last week/this week and for weeks we knew it was for the 26th. this ep aired already last week.

I'd heard that suggested somewhere before, so maybe. Of course, that seems an odd reaction for a son to have when learning that his father is getting caught up in a large-scale crime operation. It would be so tempting for me to say that it was unintentional, but it's animation, and he was the only character in the shot, so it had to be intentional. RAWR.

I'm baffled. Rhino's profile STILL hasn't been fixed on the official website. It's still Electro's.

Well, he does seem to be up to something.
well, according to Spider-Man:The Ultimate Guide book, Harry was fed up with his dad ignoring him so one day Harry snuck into Norman's lab and switched a few chemicals around and when Norman came back to the lab to use those chemicals, they blew up in his face resulting in him becoming the Green Goblin. and seeing as how they tie alot of things together in this show and judging by that crooked smile Harry had, i wouldn't be surprised if this is what happens.

BTW, as for the Big Man, i'm pretty darn sure that toombstone is, as many ppl have said beofre, just a cover up for Foswell. After all, Foswell was used alot more in this epsiode rather then the others where u would either catch a glimpse of him or hear J.J.J yell for him, Peter actually asks him(of all ppl) about the Big Man and when spidey confronts Toombstone the exact words out of Toombstone's moouth are "The Big Man, whomever he may be..."
I thinks thats plenty of evidence that Foswell could still be The Big Man.

So Harry was responsible for starting up the legacy that ultimately killed him. Poetic.

yea poetic justice, as for the tombstone thing yea i am still going with the idea tombstone is foswell's cover. Hopefully thats what happens and not another merger of characters because whats the point in merging tombstome and big man when they got big man's real identity in the show.

For some reason I got a kick out of Spidey yelling "Come on, hippo!" When He had Rhino chase him. :woot:

Very true, and I really think that's most likely what will happen. I mean, there are hints at it such as Harry sort of being fed up with Norman. It's just so likely.
