The Invisible Man!

I wasn’t a big fan of Upgrade after all the hype. It was very predictable.

Seriously. I guessed every step that movie took. From who was the “bad guy” and the ending was clear as day. No surprises for me at least.

The action was nice though, especially what they could do with that budget.

Looks promising even though it looks more like a remake of Hallow Man than an actual Invisible Man remake. Whannell has always got my trust so I can't wait.

To be fair, it's the classic "Invisible Man" movie which bears little resemblance to H.G. Well's novel, especially as far as making the main character more empathetic.

Looking forward to this. The trailer is a tad too spoiler-y for my tastes, but looks good, and I LOVED Leigh Wannell's "Upgrade" and hope that he is amongst the current filmmakers who will be able to build a solid and steady filmography, without getting swallowed and chewed out by the system.

We need more contemporary directors like Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, John Carpenter, Robert Zemeckis, David Cronenberg, Paul Verhoeven, Joe Dante, George Miller, etc.

I see they're reusing the "Upgrade" fight scene technique in some of the shots.

I didn't like the ending of Upgrade, but other than that I really did enjoy that film overall. Leigh Whannell is a talented dude, and I'm definitely curious to see what he's going to bring to this with his horror background. So far it's looking pretty promising even if it does look a bit like Hallow Man 2.0. That movie is actually a huge guilty pleasure of mine, so if its more like that film than I will honestly be more than satisfied.

I like Whannell well enough, but this hadn't really been on my radar.

I think the trailer just changed that.

Trailer showed too much but it looks really good.

I wasn't really following the film's development outside of knowing Depp had the role before. So, I assumed Moss was the Invisible (Wo)man.

Apparently this may actually be more accurate as they say Griffin was already kinda psycho before taking the serum.

I’m going to guess that the “twist” at the end is Moss going crazy and going into the machine to turn invisible thus, becoming the Invisible Woman.

Looks intense and creepy. I like the psychological thriller angle of it being from Moss' perspective while he passive aggressively stalks and torments her and everyone else thinking she's crazy.

It looks interesting to me , and I grew up on the Claude Rain's version from the 1930s.

I like the new spin on the story . Instead of him being in love with the leading lady , he's an obsessed and abusive husband.

I do think the trailer shows alot , but I'm still interested in seeing it.

I just realized Elisabeth Moss was the voice of Kimmy, the little girl in the 'See no evil' episode of BTAS where her father was an invisible man villain.
WHAT
That's always been a favorite episode of mine.

On one hand, I have a hard time seeing the Universal Monsters as being anything other than, but taking it in a different direction is probably the best way to go. It may be Hollow Man 2020, but I think I'd prefer that than some high budget copy of the Whale film.

Side note, I'd throttle someone for those sweet shades Rains wore. The robe was kick ass, too.

I'll watch anything with Elisabeth Moss, so I'm in.

Also, any "Memoirs of an Invisible Man" fans here? That's my favorite invisible man movie. Chevy Chase is great as a the smartass hero, Darryl Hannah is lovely and Sam Neill was perfect as the slimy government operative bad guy.

From the early synopsis I was expecting something more in the espionage mold, but this looks like a pretty cool take on the material.
