What do you think goes through the director's mind when he sees the concept art that came from his vision and then proceeds to look back at the source material?

"Yeah, the fans are totally not gonna have a problem with this. I'll even mention some nonsense about this being totally canon and I'm sure they'll all be on board."

Having seen all of Affleck's films, the Joker presented in Suicide Squad goes against all of his sensibilities as a filmmaker - whether it be from a writing, acting, or visual standpoint. I could not see Leto's Joker existing in a Ben Affleck film.

So yeah. Barring major changes to the character, I'd almost prefer it if they omitted the Joker moving forward instead of sticking Affleck with a characterization that falls well outside of his wheelhouse.

I seriously doubt they're just simply not going to use Leto's Joker anymore or erase what they've presented. I do see Ben having a stronger characterization than Ayer, though. That's a definite.

Not sure if the visual would change but we'll see.
