The Jared Leto is The Joker(?) Thread

Idk what kinda boogie nights crap they were going for with those terrible clothing designs

But that ain't The Joker. And neither is what we really got.

I agree. That's why the character needs a complete overhaul. From characterization to visual design.

The deleted scenes did change my opinion. They made me think he is even worse than I originally thought. Jared was unhappy about his scenes being left out, but in the end, they did him a favour.

No, they left him in a black hole of raaage and con-FUSION

Given how inseparable the two are, it's hard to think that the same people who gave us the DCEU Harley Quinn, who has been mostly well-received, also gave us this new Joker.

Haha, well put my friend

Couldn't have phrased it any better

I am probably in the minority, but I found Harley to be cringe-inducing and unfunny. It was just bad line after bad line for me. I thought Margot did the best with what she had though. For me, Deadshot was the best thing in the movie.

Yeah. Harley didn't do much for me either.

If we never saw both Harley and Joker again in the DCEU I wouldn't complain

That's how much I detest Leto's portrayal

Hey, I never said it was award winning, but Robbie's Quinn was without question better received by audiences than Leto's Joker.

And let's be fair, Will Smith was essentially playing the role he plays best in films: himself. Not Floyd Lawton. But Fresh Floyd Prince Lawton.

I, personally, preferred Will in the movie because I at least found him to be watchable.

I don't know how much more I can endure

If there is more, it's probably best to ignore it at this point. For my health.

Who'd say we actually dodged the bullet with the character's design?

Though, aside from the atrocious see-through shirt (seriously, what the f***?) I actually like the purple, trippy suit. What I find to be the worst are tattoos as originally envisioned... some of the most obnoxious s**t I've laid my eyes upon. Can't believe they had the balls to actually release those.

LMAO, Letoker is easily the new Schumacher Bane (or Mr Freeze) equivalent imo. The character is incredibly lucky to have been exposed to the mainstream via Ledger, Hamill and Nicholson because if the DCEU take was the first major Joker then the character would have been ruined for a long time.

Joker underoos, YEESH.

Completely agree.

I would say I feel the same, expect I suspected his Joker was even worse than what we saw in the theatrical release. Plus all those stories the cast kept using to promote the film made me think his Joker was going to be trash.
