"The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached?

Gun to the head, you wouldn't take a rebooted Joker over a continuation of Ayer/Leto's?

Of course I would, I hated Suicide Squad. But according to these articles, this may not even take place in the DCEU so its null. Its like WB is just throwing crap at the wall.

The most intriguing thing about this is that WB is doing live action elseworld movies. Now I am hopeful for a Red Son, Final Frontier, Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, or even an Earth 10 Superman movie.

These movies will also be in a sort of Shared Universe:

The project is intended to be part of a still developing label for Warners’ DC Entertainment properties that will include projects that could stand apart from the big massive tentpoles that are tied to each other in a shared universe way.

Also this is what JVR was talking about when he said that he pitched an idea for Red Son to WB.

I don't see it as a bad idea at all if the execution of it is good, the story is excellent, and they find a good Joker.

A Scorsese produced Joker film sounds much more intriguing and promising than the baggage of the current DCEU, save Wonder Woman.

DC/WB stop...just stop! Put this time and energy into the otjer dozen titles you've announced.

Stand apart from the tentpoles that are tied to each other in a shared universe way. Sounds like it won't take place in the same continuity with the DCEU.

Since they might do projects separate from DCEU, I really want to see a Batman film that takes place in the 30's/40's! That would be cool!

Yes, at least it seems like it. These Elseworld stories will take place in a Shared Universe. Not sure about that. Doesn't the scope become much narrower if this is true?? Stories in varied timelines or continuities would have been a better use of the new DC label, no??

This does sound like WB is trying out the multiverse aspect of DC comics. I hope it will be just as crazy as the multiverse from the comics. We could even get a Captain Carrot movie.

I want cameos from Condiment King, Pack Rat, and Mighty Mom.

Blitzkrieg, I think they're saying:

rather than:

Another brain fart idea from WB.

Ah, that's better. I totally misconstrued that part. Thanks for the explanation.

Possible Joker candidates:

Bradley Cooper
Ed Helms
Zach Galifianakis
Justin Bartha
Ken Jeong
Miles Teller
Jonah Hill

If they do an Earth 10 movie, they can't leave out this part.

Jonah Hill was in Wolf of Wall Street. So he also has that Scorsese connection.

I don't know if he did, I know he nailed the "HAAAAH" funny evil stare in TASM 2, DCEU's Joker has it.
Sorry, he is out of the running because he has not been in a Todd Phillips film before.
