Mike Tyson can play one of young 80's Joker's henchmen.
Flashpoint was the first indication that they're slowly backing away from the DCEU, and this is the second.

I think the writing's been on the wall for that one ever since Reeves confirmed he had ideas for a Batman trilogy. I don't see Affleck signing on for three more films. However, this news makes me think Reeves may be going back in time with his Batman film/s instead of sticking with the contemporary timeline.I'd say Affleck's odds of being in Reeves' film have just plummet also on the back of this news.
Nothing about this is appealing to me. DCEU just keeps throwing movies at a wall and seeing what sticks. No plan, just money grabs.
I'm... intrigued. That's all I can say for now.

But you know what? **** it. I'm a little excited for this. I love The Joker, and anything that could get the taste of Leto's **** portrayal out of my mouth is welcomed with open arms.
I kinda feel like this whole thing has just a really sour taste in my mouth for the DC universe in general, not just on film. We really need a third competitor in the superhero film universe.

I thought it seemed clear from the article that the DCEU is still happening and these Elseworld movies are just smaller stand alone movies that don't effect the continuity of the DCEU. But if they do a big Elseworlds movie, I hope its the New Frontier.
Scorsese is involved. Can't be mad at it
EDIT: Just read Scorsese is just producing. Todd Phillips directing. Never mind.
Fox kinda sorta counts. Maybe.
Right, but branching out and doing things outside of the DCEU isn't a good look particularly when they have close to twenty DCEU films in development.
