sorry, the kid's name is JASON LANE.

I cant find any mention of him being Jason Lane, only Jason White. Have you read the book?

SFX: You do have a situation where Lois has a five year old kid and Superman’s been gone for five years – any connection?
SINGER: No, it’s a kid she’s had with Richard White. There is very little with the exception of Kryptonite that Superman can’t defeat. This dilemma is undefeatable. You can’t turn back the clock for five years and erase a child. You may be able to woo her away from her fiancé, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

SFX: So this kid is a permanent reminder that he left.
SINGER: Exactly. And it was the greatest obstacle I could come up with for Superman. Honestly, I was trying to come up with all kinds of obstacles and I thought, “What would be something that he cannot overcome?” Even in the original Superman, Lois Lane died and he overcame that by turning back time. Here, this child has been around for nearly five years and there’s nothing he can do about it.

There, take it for what you will...

so its RICHARDS after all? whaat?

Yup, take it for what you will, Singer said it in print.

Now, wheres the people who will, of course, call him a liar? Even after the book, and now this, stating who the kid calls daddy.

People will be calling Superman a Home Wrecker. Or he may not get with Lois at all. However if Richard dies saving Lois & or Superman :o

He's Lying [I read The book and it's clear as daylight The kid is Clark's Kid.] I'm betting singer is doing this to throw off some people .

He wont be a home wrecker...likely not.

The novel and the cards seem to indicate Lois pulling back from Superman and remaining with Richard in the end.

The x2 book said Jean Grey survived.

How else does Superman heal at the Hospital ? He heals himself ? No ordaniary Humans Blood would work otherwise anyones Blood would have worked

If singer pulls this kinda of crap with Lois & SUPERMAN not ending up together he going to have a bunch of fans breathing down his neck ready to kill him . And I'd gladly join them . If it really turns out Jason is the son of Richard White, They'll be a Death Warnet on Singer's head. He'll be known as The Man Who kill Superman. Just like Schumacher is know as The SOB that tried to kill BATMAN .

But I don't believe a word of this BS spoiler .

Mike D (the writer) already confirmed theres no blood transfusion from the kid in the movie. He called that a pretty stupid, silly rumor.

What the hell?

Superman likely wont end up with Lois at the end of this film... its not something theyd resolve in this movie but leave for the sequels.

I can guarantee that despite the kid, its obvious Lois/Richard wont last beyond this film. Hes just an obstacle for Clark to overcome.

Ah okay & I am sure that came from the AICN review.

Thats kind of extreme don't you think? Just because Lois & Richard could end up together at the end of SR doesn't mean they will still be together in the sequels...Marsden may not even do the sequels.

Whoa. Didn't expect that. The book didn't flat-out say it was his kid, they left it a little on the ambiguous side, but I thought that it was his kid anyway, that's what it seemed to lean to.... but the novelizations can sometimes be written off of the final draft of the script before it goes into production and gets changed there. I guess the kid WAS his just prior to filming and it changed halfway through.

As for Clark not ending up with Lois....? Clark ends up without Lois all the time, no difference there. The only new angle is that she's taken this time. Usually when they don't get together, they're both still single.

But hey... Spidey didn't get the girl at the end of the first film, and look at the sequel. That could easily happen, Richard could leave her in the next one, it's obvious in the novel he knows how she feels about Supes.

Now bring on the non-believers!

Do you remember after BATMAN & ROBIN , almost the whole BATMAN fan base was ready to kill Schumacher after ruin BATMAN's character after making a very crappy movie.

You don't think that The Superman fan base wouldn't want to kill Singer if he ruined the Superman characters in RETURNS . And didn't stay true to the heart of the Superman characters . Mainly Lois & Clark/SUPERMAN .

lol no superhero ends up with the girl in the first movie.

Batman Begins....no, they broke it off.

X-men.......no, Wolverine left Jean with Scott.

Spiderman......no, Peter Parker moved on alone.

Hulk.......no, Bruce Banner disapeared into exile.

Batman 1989.....no, Vicky Vale left Gotham.

Superman 1978.....no, they never got together.

Singer would have Lois and Supes be back together. He is a fan and he would know that has to be the end even if this is the only movie he'll make with Superman. And while the boyfriend and the kid isn't in the comics, the love between Lois & Clark/Superman is and is a life long thing and has to be there.

We're fine.

From what Ive seen, Singer gets Superman more than any previous director before... Hes putting so much emphasis on nailing the character.

Whether Superman ends up with Lois at the end of this film is irrelevant. He didnt end up with Lois in STM, and its argueably the greatest of the Superman movies so far. For fans, of Superman II, Supes wiped Lois' memory and erased any evidence of their romantic relationship...they didnt end up together but that movie has a strong following.

I think wanting to kill any film maker becasue they didn't make the film the way you thought it should be made is extreme...its a movie for crying out load. Not life or death.

Honestly, there's been enough bad theories disproved about SR at this point that I personally feel that anyone bashing it has to reach pretty damn far to get me to see their complaints as valid and not just bashing-for-the-sake-of-bashing.

Theres alot of obvious truth here in this post. Some of you need to step back and realise the hero doesn't always get the girl. Accept the possibility, pull your head out of your morality encrusted tukas, and just watch another version of the Superman story with a different twist.
