"The Korova Milk Bar" or the Stanley Kubrick thread.

For some bizarre reason, Kubrick isn't recognized or represented at all on BoxOfficeMojo.com. Any ideas why? He's the only one.

My favorite director of all-time.

My top 5 (changes a lot):
2001: A Space Odyssey
Dr. Strangelove
A Clockwork Orange
Barry Lyndon
Full Metal Jacket

This thread makes me want to watch his movies again, it's been a while (but they're in my collection.)

There is a really good podcast that wrapped up recently simply called the "Kubrickcast." The two podcasters on the show go film by film and discuss their research into the making of each film, the surrounding reactions to the films and their views on the themes of the films and have done episodes on other topics related to Kubrick like other projects he contributed to. Their initial goal was to do one episode per film but as they began delving into more aspects of each film several they started breaking up into several 1 hour segments. (2001 got 5 episodes!).

Really good podcast. Highly recommended.

My Kubrick Alumni Project has made some progression.

The actors that have signed, to date, are:

1. Adam Baldwin - Animal Mother from "Full Metal Jacket" (1987)
2. Ryan O'Neal - Redmond Barry/Barry Lyndon from "Barry Lyndon" (1975)
3. James Earl Jones - Lt. Lothar Zogg from "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" (1964)
4. Malcolm McDowell - Alexander DeLarge from "A Clockwork Orange" (1971)
5-6. Lisa Burns and Louise Burns - The Grady Twins from "The Shining" (1980)
7. Murray Melvin - Reverend Samuel Runt from "Barry Lyndon" (1975)
8. Dan Richter - Moon-Watcher from "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968)

As we speak, the book is being prepped to ship on Monday to be signed by Matthew Modine from "Full Metal Jacket."

I've also begun talks for the possibility of having Tom Cruise contribute his signature so we'll see how that goes.

Amazing! Once again congrats, CFE:up:

Matthew Modine joins the Archives.

That makes nine actors to date.

^ Private Joker, pretty cool! I hope you also get Sergeant Hartman and "Gomer Pyle"

After over a year of hiatus, my Kubrick signature collecting finally continues.

My book is being prepped to be mailed out to New York tomorrow to be signed by Keir Dullea for his portrayal of Dr. David Bowman in "2001: A Space Odyssey." Keir will be the 10th actor to participate in signing the book's cover.

Plans are also underway to buy tickets to this year's Texas Frightmare Weekend convention. The Archives were signed by Malcolm McDowell and Lisa & Louise Burns at the 2015 Frightmare and this year, "The Shining"s Danny Lloyd will be attending.

On top of that, I'm also in early discussions with Nicole Kidman's publicists about having Nicole sign, which would make her the very first "Eyes Wide Shut" cast member to do so.

Some of those were pretty interesting. And there's even a Kubrick "selfie" :)
