As much as i enjoy the original I wouldnt mind seeing what they come up with, just no Nick Cannon as the lead please.

If they are gonna pick a musician in the lead I'd say Chris Brown, I heard he's a decent actor

i LOVE the Last Dragon, but i was against it ever being remade. however, Sam Jackson and RZA being involved really gives me hope. if they can get a solid director and a good actor as Leroy, i'm sold.

A few things:

1) Last time I saw it, last summer, I knew this movie would be remade. Black music and Martial Arts are too popular for it not to be.

2) It could be awesome... but going the BET route will likely not get them the effect they're looking for. They'll need another unknown martial artist/actor for Leeroy and they'll need an actual star for Laura, see Cassie, Christina Milian, Mya or similar. And yes, they were kinda young.

3) I don't approve of Sam Jackson as Sho Nuff... and even though I don't approve, if he gets back in shape, he could be utterly awesome in it. Sho Nuff isn't exactly shakespeare, and when it comes to being loud and scary, SLJ has extensive, EXTENSIVE experience. He's just going to look ridiculous with that Jeri Curl... just like he did in Pulp Fiction.

4) I want to see the trailer first... if they want to do this cheeseless, the martial arts and soundtrack has to be top notch. They'll need some Lupe, and the action'll need to be comparable to martial arts fests like Ong Bak and Forbidden Kingdom... minus the wires. They'll get extra points for making the corruption in the music industry part of the storyline.

it reminds me when Tony Scott wanted to remake "The Warriors" WITH real LA gangs. Cribs, Bloods, etc.
I was outraged, because he missed the point of The Warriors: a comic book reality.

Not everything has to be serious, and I hope that The Last Dragon remake will follow suit.

As far as I know thats still happening. Its The Warriors based on the book by Sol Yurik, which was a rough book.It was the 'comic book reality' you and I know and loved that missed the point really.

i've got a source (i won't tell who) who's in the industry. As of right now, The Warriors remake isn't goiing anywhere because people love the original so much. That's what my friend told me, who met with one of the producers of the project, pleding not to do it.

I dont know about your source but last I checked Tony was still gung ho and MTV productions was producing alongside Paramount.
Id really like to see his version get made,..Your news is dissapointing
