The Last Dragon remake...

well, from what he has told me, nothing is happening.

Just like Raimi's Evil Dead the remake, The Shadow, Wonder Woman, He-Man, or any other project in Hollywood.

I call them 'Vapor Movies'; movies that get announced but stay in Development Hell..sometimes, the business doesn't make any sense.

Worst idea ever. The only reason that the original is such a cult classic is because of how cheesy and 80's it is. You can't capture that again. This movie will bomb either way if they try to make it like the original or modernize it. Hollywood is really running out of ideas its pretty pathetic. This is the same **** as when we were supposed to get a modernized Warriors remake. Listen big wigs at Hollywood...you can't remake a cult classic deal with it.

forget a remake. it should be a sequel with taimak coming back and having some new hot chick like vanity.
i doubt they can find anyone as hot as vanity though!

but have you seen Taimak on his website?! the guy is 40+ yet looks exactly the same as he did back in 1985, its truly mind boggling! they guy has a 8 pack!!

I've been getting alot of questions as you can imagine about my participation in The Last Dragon remake.

I'm in full support of the remake.

I think the message of the original is something that people can use today in uplifting their spirits and helping young people to see their possibilities.

I was contacted by the producer and we will have more meetings about what role I will play in the remake...It has to be something we are all happy with. It's important the integrity of the original is in tact.

The new version won't be a comedy....but should be very exciting.

Don't expect anything but the best from me...

A serious version of The Last Dragon would not work. What made the orginal good was it was cheesey as hell.

Now that I think about it, Taimak should just play Leroy again, Sam Jackson is old, Taimak has aged well over the years, so he still looks younger.

Will Smith isn't really considered a rapper, but yes Ludacris, LLCoolJ, Ice-T, and Snoop Dogg are the best rapper turned actors.

.....Forgot Mos Def. Tupac was pretty good before he passed. Queen Latifah is decent. Ice Cube is pretty good as well, and who could forget Marky Mark.

Seems Hollywood is going to try remakes of every 80's movie out there and when they are done there move on to the 90's.

If it's a remake, I say he could just have a cameo, but if it's some kind of connected movie I say he good be the master.

normally i'd agree, but the son of the original director, Sam Jack, and Rza being involved give me hope that it could actually come out to be a decent remake.

As a fan of the original, I'm about 50/50 on this. The people involved, as Dorky says, gives me hope but the cynic in me expects (or should that be conditioned?) that they're gonna change a few things for the worse.

I can even see a nightmare scenario where they choose to emit the all important 'glow'.

When I was a kid, it was that glow that made the movie so magical and cool to me.
