Cool to see some other new characters. Our first reveal we got our favorites Ellie and Joel, now some new faces. And wow was this brutal, breaking the girls arm yikes. Can’t wait to eventually see more and get some idea of the story.

That looked great and graphics were amazing. I just hope that wasn't Ellie in the trailer. I don't want the character to be that different. She doesn't have the tattoo so she might not be her. With these new graphics and character models you never know. That could also take place in the past and she is Ellie's mother.

It's obvious to the naked eye that's not Ellie. Compare how she looks in the first trailer to the woman in this one.

Though it does seem like people are speculating this could be a flashback and the woman to be Ellie's mom.

It’s not Ellie. I mean it’s very easy to tell that it isn’t her just by looking at her, but also she doesn’t have the tattoo on the arm. We know in this game Ellie is older now and has that really detailed tattoo. These were all new characters that were shown.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog debuted a new trailer for The Last of Us Part II during the PlayStation Media Showcase at Paris Games Week 2017.

Here’s Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann on the trailer:​

At its core, The Last of Us is still very much about Ellie and Joel, but for this reveal, we wanted to showcase several new characters that are integral to their next journey.



We’re sure you have many questions after watching this scene. We’re also pretty sure that we’re going to see all sorts of theories about whom these characters are, where and when this scene takes place, and how all of this fits into Ellie and Joel’s next story. For now we’re keeping mum, but we’re excited to see what y’all make of this piece of the puzzle.


With all of Naughty Dog working on The Last of Us Part II, we’re making great headway into the project. From art, technology, gameplay, and story, this is by far our most ambitious game yet. You’re in for an intense, beautiful, harrowing, and emotionally moving ride. We’re extremely proud of the game we’re crafting and can’t wait to show you even more – and we promise you won’t have to wait as long for the next big reveal!

Not gonna happen and Sony really shouldnt put it out next year even if it were ready (which it wont be). They already have a hell ton of titles ahead of the line. GoW, Detroit, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Shadow of the Colossus, possibly Ghosts of Tsushima....that doesnt even include the third party titles that will compete for gamer's attention like Red Dead

That woman in this new trailer is not Ellie.

The trailer looked great and was very cinematic. But if I had anything negative to say about it at all, it was kind of confusing what was going on. It didn't really explain who these new characters are. It felt like they just dropped us into an in-game cut scene without the context needed to follow the story. Is it just me?

I think that was pretty much the point, to create intrigue.

It's obviously working since there's all these theories and speculation now about who the woman with the ponytail might actually be.
