You should watch her in Mindhunter on Netflix. She was great and so was the show

I'm glad they're doing it right, but I doubt I'll watch the rest of it. I've went through the game three times already and without the ludo element, it's just another Romero Zombie story.

It's not "cable procedural" // so, you'll be good.

Imagine if Zodiac was a 2.5 hour pilot and then got a two season order/sequel.

I am pretty familiar with the beats of both games so not worried about spoilers, just indecisive about how I want to experience it.

About playthrough, my advice would be with no commentary.

As expected although it was done really well it couldn’t hit as hard as it did in the game where there was no warning that it was going to happen.

Agreed. Still hit hard emotionally but not as hard as the game because like you said how unexpected it was in the main game.

My preference would be the game playthroughs first. When you watch the show after you’ll pick up on small touches and references to the games that are very satisfying that way, but of course it won’t work the other way as the games obviously didn’t know what the show would do when they were made.

Excellent premiere and really glad to hear that it’s doing so well. Loving the portrayals of the characters and the world building they are doing. I’ve been burned out on zombie horror and post-apocalyptic fiction for a while but this baby pulled me right back in.

Well it's safe to say just the first episode alone is the best video game adaptation ever. And I say that as someone who likes a few.

The cast are absolutely spot on. Bella Ramsey I was a little unsure on despite her being fantastic in GoT but man she really is a good actress as she embodies Ellie here fully. Pedro delivers as expected, there are some moments he just looks exactly like Joel in the game. Never seen the actress who plays Tess before but she was good.

And the actress who played Sarah was damn good as well.

Crazy what can happen when in lore action a games story and characters are taken seriously. Bring on the rest.

Crazy too that this is came from Sony of all places. It gives me hope for its other upcoming video game adaptations but then I have to remember Uncharted exists, lol.

If only they had cast Chris Evans as Nate and J.K. Simmons as Sully in Uncharted everything would have been fine.

Really glad this is turning out well and seeing success. Quite annoying that they couldn’t take Uncharted seriously and commit to quality in the same way. Would this show have worked with Holland playing Joel? So dumb.

GoW better be top quality, and I’d like to see Horizon done too.

I wonder if Hulu is being counted properly. There is no mention of Hulu in that article, just cable HBO and HBO Max. My family and I watched this show on Hulu, since we find Hulu more pleasing to navigate than HBO Max.

Yeah, Pedro is a really great likeness for Joel.

Hopefully game projects get taken more seriously going forward. Better for everyone when they do.

Uncharted was unfortunately pushed by Holland and probably only got made because of him.
