'The Last of Us' HBO Series

The makeup work for this show is freaking phenomenal.

Now, that's dope and shows why you just can't beat practical effects. It's also a crying shame that we still haven't gotten quality, creature work like this in any Resident Evil adaptation yet. At least a quality videogame adaptation like TLOU was able to beat them to the punch though so I can't be too mad about it.

Damn, not been able to watch this yet but heard lots of buzz on it. Going to be a morning job.
Have lots of tissues nearby. You will need them.

It's so perplexing because Resident Evil has had so many live-action adaptations over the years and not one of them has gotten it right or had actual quality. I knew once they made a damn Zootopia porn joke in that new cancelled show that there was no going back.

I think one day fans will get someone who does that franchise justice, but as of right now I feel extremely sorry for them.

I loved the first Resident Evil a lot, but the films went sharply downhill after that. :(

I can see some folks enjoying those movies as guilty pleasures, but other than that it's quite sad that over 20 years later there still hasn't been a beloved live-action adaptation of that franchise. We need less Halos and Uncharteds and more videogame adaptations like this show and Sonic to a lesser extent.

Bella Ramsey's acting when
Henry shot himself still haunts me. That was legit some of the best acting I've ever seen.

Still grasping onto the hope that one day we'll get a legitimately great RE adaptation.

Finished watching that episode a little over an hour ago and went back to TLOU Part 1 picking up right where I first meet up with them and then just finished where they depart. That part always sucked but there is no way to get around it.

The Bloater in this episode truly lived up it's reputation.

Pierce did not stand a chance against it. We saw in the background it did what it does to Joel, which is rip off most of his head and throw it before it went onward to kill some more. I had to rewind and do a double take to make sure I actually saw what I thought I had.

Damn what a tremendous episode and that ending was definitely a gut punch. Loved everything with the Sam and Henry characters who were given just enough character development at the beginning.

I'm also starting to really enjoy how this show doesn't rush to get to the action and actually takes it time with the worldbuilding and setup which makes those set pieces even more satisfying IMO.
That feels different compared to what I’m used to on many films these days. Allows things to simmer and get deeper into the characters, situation and environment before things get crazy. That’s why I still value episodes like the one before this too.

Stellar episode from start to finish, I couldn't be happier with the changes of Henry and Sam, it just makes everything even more heartbreaking and tragic. I hope they keep Jeremy Webb on as a director for season 2 and 3.

He would nail it for the Yara/Lev/Abby Island section in the game

Anyone involved in the live action future of Resident Evil better be watching this. This show really shows how **** all RE films have been and how **** Uncharted was. No excuse for horror/zombie material and game media to be so poor when we can get results like these when people commit to quality across the board rather than cashing in in on a name and otherwise coasting.
