Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

They showed it before he arrived with the deer and said the line. I checked.
Oh gotcha, I couldn't remember from the top of my head. Even if they didn't show it, it still would have been foolish of them to assume it wouldn't snow again before they attempted to track Ellie.

One thing I didn’t get was they said she wouldn’t be able to carry the deer by herself - which I guess makes sense. But why was she hunting it then? :D

Episode 8 wasn't one of my favorites. As a big fan of the game it felt too short. I'm sure I would enjoy it a lot more if I didn't know the game. Some comparison with the game:
I wish they made the ending more like the game with Joel and Ellie meeting inside. I really liked that moment and I think Joel should have seen what Ellie did. That last shot of them walking away wasn't very good. Did the cgi backround when Ellie was killing David bother anyone else? Maybe only the fire was cgi but it looked distracting.

Also I want to mention with possible season 3. I dont mind waiting few years for new season based on Part III until game is actually released. Show is not priority. Original source material is. We can wait. You wait till you have source material out to be adapted. There is no rush.

Do shows often have large gaps in the middle? I was worried it might be hard to get the same group to have free schedules at the same time if there is an unusually large gap in between a couple of seasons, especially with how often big games get delayed these days.

Recently, Better Call Saul had really big gaps between seasons.

As far as HBO shows go, so did The Sopranos. Especially late in the show's run.

They got nothing on Curb Your Enthusiasm's 6 year gap between seasons 8 and 9.
Thanks for the info, good to know. That's reassuring. I can see them pulling out all the stops for the third game with the unprecedented success of the show, and it would be much better if they have all the new game material to call on when writing the show (unlike GoT and the books).

Technically, season 3 doesn't need to be released after the game due to Druckmann's involvement. He knows the story for the 3rd game so they could start filming season 3 before the game gets released. Though I would prefer the game to come out first.

Bella's comments about the finale being divisive has me a little worried. I really hope they haven't changed the game ending in any way.

On a different note, it's so awesome Troy and Ashley got roles in the show.

I think she's directing those comments towards people who have been introduced to the Last Of Us franchise through this show. Those of us who have played the first game already know why the ending will be seen as divisive to blind viewers.

Well the game ending is divisive lol, so that suggests they’ve been loyal to it. If they use the game ending and pull no punches, it’s going to be very thought-provoking for all those who haven’t been spoilt on it before seeing it.

That is, if those racist, homophobic incels on The Last of Us: Part II subreddit who hated the second game don’t spoil it out of spite for anyone else experiencing the story for the first time through watching the show.
