Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

Wow episode 3 of the first season was a masterpiece of television. Just rewatched it again. I purposefully waited to rewatch the first season before season 2 after watching the first season once. The live action Bill was an incredible character who I just loved. It appears it took the apocalypse and Frank to bring out his true self. Bill protected Frank at all cost. The video game Bill was such a Richard. The characterizations were totally different. I am guessing we will get a similar situation with Abby. Katelyn can do it I believe.

Abby and Elle look alike. In the game Elle was thin and wirery build while an Abby was an Ox with muscles.
Different take. And, honestly, if not putting the actress through a rigorous training program to get super bulky gives us a smaller, thinner, I’m perfectly fine with that. As far as the game version was concerned, her physique was the way it was mostly to give us another character with Joel’s play style.

In this adapted TV version, you don’t need it and can express in other ways how dangerous and lethal she can be, like having her be great in hand-to-hand combat, and an excellent marksman with a gun.

I trust the showrunners’ judgment on this.

Just finished the first season again. All the episodes were great except maybe episode 4 before Sam and Henry showed up. Top notch acting all around especially Pedro and Bella. It hit me that they look nothing like the video game characters but they are Joel and Elle in every way. The only complaint I have is that I don’t understand why they didn’t have more runners and stalkers in certain episodes. The budget must of been tight but I can’t see how those characters were that expensive. Can’t wait for April 13.

I also learned about a month or so ago that I am also a bit on the autistic spectrum, though not as strong as a lot of other people, which didn’t come as much of a surprise.

Her description of observing other’s facial mannerisms, body language and social cues to learn to simply just talk, interact with people and have conversations really describes a lot of my experience growing up and just trying to figure out how to…human. I think I sort of got the sense that maybe some people thought I was a little strange or weird for not socializing or behaving like a lot of other kids, but no one ever outright bullied or made fun of me. I do remember, though, feeling quite a bit lonely, especially in high school. Thank god for the job I got in September 2013 because it really helped me open up more to people and develop and hone my social skills.

Apparently, people finding this out about themselves and learning how to deal with it is becoming more and more common. Glad that it isn’t as stigmatized as it used to be.

Did you guys see the cast interview a few week’s ago. Bella actually appears to be more buffed than Katelyn. This will be interesting how this plays out in live action.

Since the physicality of the game probably won't be as present in the show, I don't imagine either actor's size is going to matter as much.

My daughter is on the spectrum too and what it's taught me is that it's different for everyone. I've seen people both better and worse than she is. I think that's what makes it difficult sometimes to diagnose. There is no one standard. It is nice to know that folks out there can have it and go out and have successful lives, even if my daughter isn't able to, not like Bella.

The season premiere is titled...

Yep, we’re getting that song.
You know, I don’t say this enough and I probably should, but props to the marketing department for this show. They’ve really done an excellent job at capturing and paying tribute to the vibe and aesthetic of each of the games while also doing their own thing. Any advertising campaign can make or break a TV series or movie, and they’ve been tremendously successful on this front.

This adaptation’s popularity wouldn’t be where it is without them. Kudos!

I am shocked to learn that most people don’t know this show is based on the video game. I wish I could watch season 2 with fresh eyes. Those folks are in for a great time of television viewing.

It’s time to shutdown YouTube. There are idiots posting actors that they would rather have than Bella playing Elle. Do these fools understand that this is a television show not a video game. Some idiot said she doesn’t look like Elle. :gross: :woozy:

Sounds like the reddit for TLOU 2. Its full of morons saying stuff like that and worse. Insulting Bella's looks etc.

I can understand griping more about Abbie's casting than Ellie. Bella is about as close as we are going to get for an actual living, breathing human to resemble her.

Abbie's build is more important to me, she's meant to be this overpowering presence compared to Ellie, but then I also have trust in the showrunners to adapt TLOU2 right without messing up the characters.

All that said, there are always people who hate their fancast didn't make the cut or whoever was cast isn't "right" to them. I mostly don't care.

Lots of David’s in the real world. Scary. I mean if you don’t see Elle when Bella is acting I don’t know what to say. Highlights for me in the show of Bella’s acting was Elle first meeting Joel, Elle and Sam, Elle and Tommy’s wife, Elle and Riley, and of course Elle/David. Emmy award winning actress in my opinion.

Very interested in seeing how Kaitlyn plays Abbey. My guess is she will make Ms. Anderson more likable but as the show moves forward it will be interesting to see how she fights.
