WORST movie of the year? A) You haven't seen it, B) I can guarantee you there will be a lot movies worse then this. Christ, everyone's a critic before they even step in the theater.

You know the film is bad when Van Damme turned it down

Guess "The Expendables" is really gonna suck, huh?

Haha Steelshen, that ain't no lady. He's probably a comedian, it's all in good fun. :woot:

Okay, towards the bottom of this link you can see new footage from the movie and from the premiere. It shows Chun-Li training with Gen, some fighting from the club scene, TEARS, and then some footage from the premiere with the wacky Chunster fight (including fight announcer "KO!").

LOL now that i've seen better pics yeah that is a man :woot:

having seen a bit more of the footage this is reminding me of those old Hong Kong b-movie flicks from the '70s-- a bit of drama, a whole lot of martial arts, and then a cheesy ending. i cant recall how much the budget for this movie was, but given that its American$$$ done in Asia i would've expected a better flick, and better marketing.

btw this has come out in Japan already? any reviews?

Perhaps you are not familiar with the thespian stylings of Kristin Kreuk...let me sum up...imagine a cardboard man merged with a bad Asian actress and there you go....and she is the STAR of the film.....

Like I said, why is she never speaking in any of the commecials or trailers? She's supposed to be the star, I ain't heard her emote yet...weird.

That girl couldn't carry a show, let alone a movie. Such huge miscasting spells doom for this project.

I'm extremely familiar with her acting, and I'm going to have to disagree with you.

When was she ever supposed to carry a show?

I can understand being disappointed that the characters don't match up exactly with the video game animation that you are used to (don't agree, but understand), but damn, some of these comments on a movie you have yet to see are ridiculous. Just don't see it. Easy enough.

This will be just as bad as DB. This has Kreuk and DB has Chatwin. If they were to marry and mate...their offspring would be emotionless mutes.

Yeah. Chatwin has at least some talent. Look at the trailers for Dragonball and then look at the trailers for Chun Li. You'll find the worst offender is Kreuk as Chun Li.

Dragonball looks like it is at least trying to remain somewhat faithful....Street fighter looks like a big cash in.

I'm not a huge Streetfighter fan so I'm not disappointed at all. I just think the movie looks like generic crap and that the lead actress is an acting lightweight and doesn't look tough enough for the role she is playing. And I never said that she carried a show, I meant that she couldn't even carry a show if she got the lead in one. I'm refering to her lightweightness as an actress.

I would agree if Fox wasn't making DB but they are so they are going to try and and cash in:o

So...are they going to try and make other Street Fighter movies if this makes bugdet? It won't domestically but is that what they hope for?

just saw a new tvspot on the disney channel... i was flipping through.. only caught the end of it.

The production companies are Adlabs Films, Hyde Park, & Capcom. B-Movie Martial Arts? Well, it is Street Fighter. :woot:

It comes out in Japan on Feb. 28, I did come across a review from the premiere. It said the action was exciting and I think said it was a different take on the characters but I got lost after that.

Perhaps not, but I'll take this over any terrible comedy (Didn't Pink Panther 2 just come out?). Besides, it's FEBRUARY.

No idea. Some people like to believe that FOX isn't marketing it because it's a martial arts movie with a female lead. Could it be that she's using a Chinese accent? Who knows. I haven't seen anyone speak in the Japanese clips (Well..besides the Bison line) either, but I know that Gaga (the company distributing it) is doing a hell of a lot better job then Fox is over here. They've got a legitimate site, interviews, clips, and the premiere was on tons of sites.

Well they aren't doing a very good job of making people aware it exists.

That's the idea, yes.

Quote from the link:

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is directed by ex-cinematographer Andrzej Bartkowiak, who directed Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, and Doom previously.

Take it however you'd like, that fight scene looked just as good as the ones in the movies listed above.:csad:

and the only decent fight scene in Romeo Must Die is the scene between Jet Li and Russell Wong....that's because they both know what the hell they are doing and are damn good at it.....

does anyoen esle find it interesting that the trailers are street fighter heavy, not so much the chun li angle. The trailer barely had any shots of KK. if i didn't know better, or see the subtitle, i would it was a remake or a reboot

I just bought the Extreme Edition Streetfighter film.

Screw this Legend of Chun Li crap.

I want my Bison's boots to light up.

I agree with Vile...Id much rather watch Jean Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, and Raul Julia
