Anyone else thinks it looks odd that Vega is being punched in the face with his mask on, but yet, blood is splattered from him?

I haven't been paying attention to this but Chris ****ing Klein? Seriously? This movie's going to suck

i was all for giving this movie a chance, even after all the questionable casting and story, because i'm such a huge fan of the game. but after watching the trailer.....this looks bad! oh my god it looks bad! leave street fighter to the arcades and animes.

Still can't get over the Chris Klein casting. He makes Keanu Reeves look like a method actor.

This movie looks like the producers just took whatever or whoever they can sign up and blended them in a vortex of suck.

Well, to be honest, I didn't expect him to look like this.

i didn't expect him to look exactly like that either, but i was at least expecting him to be blonde. Bison is blonde and Charlie Nash has dark hair. that's frikkin' bass ackwards man.

About the only reason I'll sit through is Kreuk. Otherwise, its a film that has STREET FIGHTER in name only slapped on it.

Or you could just stay home and watch porn, as opposed to paying for this piece of **** hence giving Fox your hard earned cash.

There's probably also a Kreuk look alike out there. So that'd be definitely more worth watching.

I actually like this poster; it's much better than the solo shot of Kristin from a few weeks ago. As for the film itself, I haven't seen anything in the trailer that makes me think it would suck...but then, I'm no "Street Fighter" purist, either. I do hope it's more serious than the 1994 version (although I did enjoy that film as well), so I'm prepared to at least give it a chance on the big screen.

As for the constant debates over characters, outfits, etc., I'm reminded of a post I read on one of the Batman threads: "Some folks complain because it's too far from the source, and others because it's too close to the source. in the end, some fans just don't know what they want." (paraphrased)

Well, we know what we want. Characters that resemble the freaking characters from the game.

We can only tell who one character is and that's Vega. And they even managed to **** something as simple as his mask up.

But what many fail to remember is that many of the chatacters have been done as deliberate caricatures of real people or situations. I mean, when was the last time you saw a guy walking down the street who looked anything like the game's versions of Dhalsim, Zangief, or even Bison? Most of the characters in the "Street Fighter" universe are deliberately stretched beyond human reason, be it in appearance, fighting styles, super-powers, etc. the only ones who look even remotely realistic, IMO, are guys like Ryu, Ken, or Guile (although the latter's haircut is rather extreme). Most of the women are drawn completely out of proportion, as are many of the male characters, too.

My point is that in casting a film based on such a concept, various changes will be made. Some will be extreme; others, not so much. It all depends on the film's production crew, and how their vision lines up with the source. People complaind like mad about Heath Ledger's makeup for the Joker, and "The Dark Knight" was one of last year's biggest blockbusters. I think a lot of moviegoers need to try and relax; just because the film isn't exactly like the games, that doesn't mean it will automatically suck.

What's wrong with his mask? the design itself seems fairly simple, even in the games. As for recognition, I think casting Michael Clarke Duncn was a good move; he'll probably make a convincing Balrog. Kristin, of course, is mostly known for her work on "Smallville", but I think she was an interesting pick for Chun-Li. I couldn't get much of an impression from the Japanese trailer, but from what I saw she may turn out to be a strong presence in the film. Time will tell.

This movie comes out next month and we dont even have a trailer yet(US).
Just proves that this movie will be terrible.

With the names in the supporting cast, they may as well have made Zhang Ziyi the star. She didn't have to be THAT well recognized.

if there were a cute female star that had to sacrifice her career to do this dumb movie i'm glad it's not Zhang Ziyi. she's far too talented for this crap.

Well see heres the thing. You wanna make an ultra realistic version of Street Fighter to the point where you have Bison fighting in a business suit? Okay...fine. The confusion, on my part at least, is why in the hell is alright for people in this movie to create balls of energy from thin air and defy the laws of physics and gravity but a guy in a nazi-like uniform is too much to handle? I just don't get it sorry. It seems they tried to find a balance and just failed. They just missed the mark in my opinion.

Ah, not this crap again. We had a fairly lengthly discussion with some other members of the board a couple pages back. Let me just say that we kept the demand for accurate game designs very low. We already tried to reason and rationalize how the costumes could be translated to the screen and basically just keep the essence of the characters.

But the costumes are the least of our worries. What's worse are the actors that've been chosen and that no effort was spend to make them actually look like the characters they are portraying.

The main antagonist, Bison, looks nothing like he's supposed to. He's supposed to be imposing and have slick, black hair. Instead we get someone who doesn't look the least bit imposing, is blond and has a beard. So he can't be in a red uniform, no biggie. Honestly, I know it would look corny on screen. But at least get the rest right.

Then we have Vega. The actor goes against the freaking core of the character. Vega is an extreme narcissistic, good looking, aristocratic, psychopath. He's an adonis with a few screws loose, who loves everything beautiful, mostly him, and drinks the blood of his victims.

Who do we get to portray him? Taboo... What would have been so difficult about getting a good looking actor and put a stunt man behind the mask during action sequences?

What's wrong with his mask? the design itself seems fairly simple, even in the games.

That's the thing. It's one of the simpliest mask designs I've ever seen and it looks great. But the movie design looks nothing like it. It looks ugly. Again, going against the core of the characters. It has nothing of the elegance that the original design has.

Who's the woman between Balrog and Chun-Li suppose to be?
