Doesn't sound too bad yet, and I also like the inclusion of Gen.

Well, it's not my ideal Movie, but for a Movie about Chun Li, it seems pretty solid. Though the fact that there might not be any powers is a bit concerning. Bison without Psycho Powers would be just, well, lame.

Gen. HA. Called that one. :woot: Also glad to hear Charlie Nash is in there. Always liked him more than Guile.

Can't wait to see this one. Hope it's as good as The Transporter movies.

Script sounds OK from the review. I'm okay with them just focusing on Chun Li, because she's one of my favorite characters in SF (and in Videogamedom period), and it gives them an opportunity to break away from typical fighting-game-movie drivel. If the movie turns out to be good (unlikely, but not impossible), then they could always introduce fan favorites like Ryu and Ken in the sequel. Really, they need to start small if they want any hope of this being anything better than typical game movie trash.

Kreuk just needs to get a little more chiseled, mostly in the bottom half as well as her face.

Kreuk better start eating hamburgers every day, then shape tone it at the gym, because she isn't exactly "thick" like Chun-Li is.

Theres no such thing as a thick Chinese girl. Chun-Li is a myth

Oh and a beautiful myth I must say:cwink:

Anyways, I think KK face is perfectly fine for Chun Li, but I'm expecting she will tone up muscles a little bit for the role, let's be realistic..there's no real life chinese girl with those legs, anyway KK looks like she can play Alpha / Classic SF2 Chun Li (she wasn't that massive then). And about the script review, being the big SF junkie I am I can say that I quite like it..specially Vega's description (a f***ed up guy that even Balrog fears). Weird that there is no Sagat, so we are not getting the whole 4 shadaloo Grand Masters.

I too was wondering where they left Sagat, but maybe they treat the Chun Li Movie as some kind of prologue. Then in a sequel we'd get Ryu and the whole gang, and with Sagat freshly recruited to Bison's organisation.

Is Shadaloo in this at all?

Well, it does say in the plot description that Shadaloo, which is now called Shadow Law, takes over part of Hong Kong.

Nah, I don't want Street Fighter to be too silly. Sure, the games are all about crazy martial arts moves and Fireballs, but the action should be IMO a little more grounded. Maybe something like the first MK, or even Bloodsport. The Martial Arts performances should be realistic and brutal, nothing too Matrix or Kung Fu Hustle over the top.

Um, that IS street fighter. It's not Street Fighter if it isn't martial arts moves that push realism, sorta like the Matrix. If it didn't have that, it would just be another martial arts movie. The animated movie was a perfect example of pushing realism. For example, having Chun-li use her hands for the Spinning Bird Kick.

But how faithful, does anyone here think, should they stick to the games? For example, I would love to see a Hadoken in a Movie, but I wouldn't want Guile to be able to perfrom his Sonic Boom. It should require great skill and dedication to channel your Chi, it should be something like a long lost art that only few can perform. Bison on the other hand, I wouldn't mind if he's all powerful and over the top like in the games.

But what about smaller stuff like Chun Li's leg move? Can that somehow be pulled off in a serious Movie without looking silly?

Why the hell can't Guile perform the Sonic Boom? It's his thing, and it's not as powerful as the Hadoken, and neither is the Kikouken, so I see no reason why it cant be done.

Chun-li's leg move should be one of the easier effects. Once again, just like the animated movie, when she put it on Vega.

This is the stuff that made the first Street Fighter movie so bland.

Chun-li must perform the Spinning Bird Kick, Lightening kick, and the Kikouken at least once during the movie.

It can be done, but it shouldn't. I don't want the whole relevance and importance of the whole Chi channeling concept to be downplayed by the fact that even some military guy can perform such an attack. This should be like Mortal Kombat, you've still got people like Sub-Zero doing his ice moves, but you didn't have Johnny Cage throwing around green energy orbs or Sonya shooting her energy rings.

Chun-li must perform the Spinning Bird Kick, Lightening kick, and the Kikouken at least once during the movie.

Yes to the Spinning Kick, Lightning Kick should be just something like 5 consecutive kicks, and probably no to the Kikouken.

I like the review, Gen being in it makes me happy.

But seriously, would anyone want to see a Ryu spinoff film?

i'm guessing if this movie is the least bit successful they'll be saving Sagat for Ryu. they've GOT to reenact the battle where Sagat gets his scar.

3 out of 4 of Shadaloo's top guys are in this movie, so chances are that they've already formed Shadaloo by then.
