The Libertarian Thread

As Paul says, "Truth is treason in the empire of lies."

Of all the things in the world that I would hate to say I told you so about, not electing Ron Paul will be the biggest one ever.

Then your going to love the book. It's all about getting rid of the corruption and return to the "We the people" of the Constitution.

No offense, but every political book outside of Mein Kampf is about the same thing.

crazy old Ron is hardly the first politician to champion against corruption...

Oh, buy the way, what is wrong with people making money, and why do you think "rich" people don't work for money? Do they not have an Profitable Idea, or a determination that warrents them to keep the money they earned? Or do you agree with Hillary that said "I'm going to Take Those Profits"? Is the money you earn not yours to keep?

yes! Buy the way! Buy everything!!!!! it's warrented!!!
also, did someone just call a book by Ron Paul " the most important book of our age"?
did I like slip into bizarro world without noticing it?
hey guys, I hear that there's an Amy Winehouse biography out there.
together with this book? the age of light can't be far behind.

Read it before you judge.

no no, it's a conspiracy I tells ya, I popped up right now and guess what else was on my user CP " the metallica appreciation thread"
so, Ron Paul writes the "most important book of our age" and people like Metallica after the black album.

sorry I think I need to cry in a corner with a nice bottle of Scotch.

if a book becomes "the most important of our age"....I highly doubt it will be written by Ron Paul

You know, it's funny.

Plato argued in his Allegory of the Cave, that when an "enlightened" one who had escaped the cave comes back to it, and attempts to convince his once fellow-prisoners the truth: that what they see in the cave is not reality, that they had been lied to, that the people in power essentially owned them, they would not believe him. They would make fun of him and think he's crazy.

It always gives me a sad chuckle every time people prove to me just how right Plato really was.

Plato is dead.

wow...thats just very pompous and borderline mean-spirited. I'm not saying Ron Pauls' book is good or bad....all I'm saying is perhaps its importance can be overstated. Just a point...trying to throw Plato around to make yourself seem or feel smarter while trying to enlighten us, the ignorant and uncultured, doesn't work.

And his ideas are not.

His ideas, not yours. You're so brainwashed it's not even funny. You can't even come up with one original thought on your own, you need Ron Paul to let you know what the most important book of our age is and can't do anything but add ignorant retorts using someone else's ideas and thoughts. Let me know when you actually free yourself from that cave and start coming up with your own ideas on things.

It's one of those things that pisses me off about Paul supporters and people who grasp at someone's beliefs. It's like they have no clue what the **** was going on until some dickbag gets in your face and you have that "OMG, I believe in everything he says! He's my hero!" Hero worship is so not the direction we need to go in to create some actual change in this country.

What can you expect from a Paul supporter? It's one of the main reasons IMO why he will never be a viable candidate or vehicle for change. It's amazing how arrogant and pompous a lot of Paul supporters are. For the record, I may be generalizing but those are my thoughts based on my experiences with Paul supporters.

Who said I was trying to do that?

I'm saying that when one tries to present something new and different, something that may be the truth, to other people so conditioned by what they see on the Wall (essentially television, movie screens, magazines, newspapers, etc.) that the chances are that those who you try to convince will think you're crazy and will taunt you because of what you believe as opposed to what those in power want them to believe.

And I wasn't addressing that to you. I was addressing the immature people who just like to crap on Ron Paul for no reason other than that they think he's crazy.

Why? It's goes back to what I just said.

I don't think he's crazy, I think he's incredibly naive and idiotic. Just saying, for the record.
