Spiderfan93 - you do know that Stan Winston is dead, right? But his guys are now Legacy FX and I think you will get your wish...

I was talking about Winston Studios or whatever it's called now.He died 2 years ago, yes I am aware lol.

It's called Legacy FX now? What an alteration.

Anyone know where this is from? The pic showing up???

I think they have to go the CG route. garfield is 6 foot tall so to make the lizard tower above him it (the lizard) will need to be at least 8 foot to look truly scary. a CG lizard is going to be far easier to achieve than a CG spidey as scales are much easier to simulate in a computer than skin.

Mix of both 100%

Unless they have really really really good CGI then an all CGI Lizard won't have any real weight to it.

and an all practical, unless done REALLY well, (like if stan winston rose from the grave and designed it) would look goofy

I can't wait for the debate over how The Lizard looks when it's revealed. Fanboy rage at it's best for that upcoming nerd-off.

wow, now suddenly the Lizard is a giant, too?!?! This is not the Hulk we are talking about.

He has always been man sized [at least in the good Ditko/Romita stories] so that will be easy to do with a suit/make-up. Look at Wink in HB2, he towers over Hellboy and that was ALL practical. The tail will need to be either digital or the puppeteers will have to be removed [which is no big deal]. Digital stunt doubles are standard in any movie these days, so that goes with out saying.

And I think any digital guy will tell you that a cgi Spidey is a lot easier to do than a Lizard creature, since Spidey is covered in a costume that looks more like a wire frame now than he ever has.

no idea how to remove these multi-posts...

Dude, in Jurassic Park 1, they made a T-Rex robot for the car scene (when it's sniffing around the kids car), that was a robot, authentic size, robot. It can be done. They've mad lots of robot Raptors who are man size. It's not impossible

a man sized lizard in a lab coat aside from looking ridiculous wont look particularly scary.

To anyone who thinks a robot Lizard would be impossible:

Jurassic Park. Several man sized raptors, and an actual authentic sized T-Rex (the scene where the Rex is sniffing around the car, that was a robot)

Alex - there is only 6 minutes of cgi dinos in Jurassic Park, so MOST of them are practical puppets.

Never a big fan of Todd's Lizard, hope it looks more like Steve Ditko's...

that's a comic.
I'm sure everythig in the comics if taken directly from the printed page and put on the big screen would look excellent.

Explain to me why a man-lizard in a tattered lab coat would be impossible to make look good on film.

I'm gonna leave that entirely in the hands of the film makers, they know what they're doing and I certainly don't. As long as it looks good I really don't care

LOL

Ah... one of my earlier memories of Spider-Man in comic form. Always loved McFarlane's run on Amazing.

I bought 'torment' to see what the fuss was about and it was frigging RUBBISH.
