I knew jonah hex would be bad right from the start and after viewing it I confirmed that belief. Rango was undoubtedly one of the best westerns of recent times animated or not, which makes me have faith this will have the true heart of a western.

It's budget should not have been that high in the first place. A simple mid budget movie would have sufficed. I mean, True Grit was made for only $38 million. They could have made $50-60 million movie based on the Lone Ranger.

Who's tracking it that low? Disappointment or not it's opening bigger than that for sure.

Saw the trailer before Star Trek and wasn't impressed. They should have called the movie "Tonto" because it seemed the movie was more about him than the Lone Ranger.

And man, that dead bird on Depp's head is just so dang distracting.

I get more of a Zorro remake vibe than Wild Wild West. Certainly not Jonah Hex (besides the villain who looks kind of like Hex).

At least we're getting a bunch of old Lone Ranger stuff being released on DVD now....picked up the two Clayton Moore Lone Ranger movies today.

Yeah, I'm definitely getting more of a Zorro vibe. Particularly that gold looking sub plot I see in the newest trailer. But these vibes aren't bad, since I love Mask of Zorro.

These guys just get summer fun. Now hopefully the budget doesn't defer from a good movie, but I'm very excited for this. Sure it didn't need to be made for this much, but still, a western with this size budget has never been done before. And I'm glad a western is getting a shot at it. You could say they work better smaller scaled but I'm all for new things. And if this works, even better.

Depends how people respond to them this summer and if either stand out in their big breakout movies. I assume Cavill has the bigger chance at making a name for himself.

Didn't work for Taylor Kitsch though and he had 2 shots in one summer.
