I'm currently reading the book, and I'm really enjoying it. It's dark and thematically rich (and unsettling), but it hasn't been that gory as of right now, especially compared to some of King's more fleshy work. Based on the reactions and one wild shot in the trailer, I wonder if this is going to be the one King adaptation that's actually gorier than the source material. So many of those, particularly older ones, are annoyingly toothless.

Yeah this book is next on my list once I finish the two I’m currently on.

I'm surprised because my theater was full on Friday night. I didn't think it would take down The Conjuring in its second weekend but I also didn't think it would be overtaken by Downton Abbey. It also looks like it didn't open in as many theaters as the others.
