No, I really liked Solo the first time. I just liked it even more this time around. I kind of loved it this time. For me the SW movies break down into 3 categories. My all time favorites (Empire, TFA and SW), the mixed bag (Solo, RotJ, TLJ and Rogue One) and the prequels. Solo pushed up a bit after this watch in my mind.
Ah gotya. Probably not too far off most people's way of looking at the SW films.

Come on, air the trailer already!!

$100000000000 says flickchick and DS are in love with it. any takers?

Anyone know why there is a random ass end of a cat on the far left side of that poster? It's barely visible. Is that some sort of Easter egg or just some goof that the poster designers slipped into the poster?

Oh God, I'm never playing Mario Kart ever again. :yuk:

What's particularly bizarre about Conan? I mean... It's no more out there in terms of content than a lot of other fantasy films. What sets it apart is that unlike so many other films of it's type that came before that weren't say, biblical dramas or stories set in the Roman or classical Greek eras, it's actually got a very textured feel over all, great production design, costuming and locations so it has a lived in, real world feel. Adding to it is Milius' going for the jugular in terms of the presentation of this "ahistorical" time, making it again, visceral and tactile, even when, hell perhaps, especially it gets ugly and vicious, as such a world would be. It's also pretty thematically consistent all around and it climaxes well. Again... Is this about content for you? Cuz, yeah, it's a crazy barbarian world of wizards turning into snakes and ceremonies where animated shadows come to claim a half dead Austrian accented form gladiator/slave/thief. It's supposed to be out there. A fantasy tale of high adventure, to paraphrase Mako.
Definitely not the content. That is right up my alley. Its like the original Witcher in that regard. It is a film that is unforgiving in its vision. It is fascinating that it is entirely sincere, while kind of playing out like parody at the same time. Arnold's deliver wasn't there yet imo and yet he works. You get scenes like Conan and Valeria just feeding each other meat after sex, like its super romantic and it's hilarious. We got odd 80s hair metal like people, who don't exactly look in the best shape, as these dominating warriors. Darth Vader has the worst best fringe of all time.

Uncle Iroh's voice over kind of makes the movie imo. It's just so real. Like I believe everything he says and it just makes it larger then life for me.

Conan the Barbarian is the greatest sword and sorcery movie ever made.

Watched more Iron Fist. It didn't get any better. :(

Just let it die people. Let it die.

All he talk about Captain Marvel and Shazam got me to thinking about something.....

In the late 60's I had just bought the MARVEL COMICS comic book CAPTAIN MARVEL (damn I wish I still had that book)....a week or so later I watched the 1950 movie THE GOOD HUMOR MAN starring Jack Carson. It's a goofy comedy that has as part of the plot - adult ice cream truck driver is part of a club that all other members are children....and their club was centered around the adventures of comic book superhero Captain Marvel (the one who says SHAZAM) - This blew my mind. I had a comic book of a brand new superhero and here was a movie from 1950 that was talking about him. I showed my comic to my dad and told him about the mention in the old movie. He told me there was a Captain Marvel back then, but that he wore a red suit with a lighting bolt on his chest and that he had a cape. He said he wasn't an alien warrior. I of course figured dad didn't know what he was talking about. Around 5 years later the SHAZAM TV series debuted. And I was confused as hell again.

I wonder how the general audiences today will react to CAPTAIN MARVEL and SHAZAM starring CAPTAIN MARVEL.
