I tried wearing a tinfoil hat but had an allergic reaction. It shut down all my thoughts. Its much better now that I've taken it off. I can once more hear Orglap from Pentos VII tell me about probing abducted cows.

May i ask why the tinfoil hat in the first place?

Yeah, why limit to one type of music? I always find people that do that to be worried about appearing in the right click. Blech :down I must only listen to rap, to fit in with this crowd. Or I must listen to country for these folks. Screw that!

I was never like that. I was a guy who didn't really try to listen to music to fit in with people. I like being introduced music and friends introduce stuff that got me into different genres, but I continued off that and gain knowledge of different genres.

I got into Electronic Music and the House Music scene in College after listening to Justice and going to college parties. A less than year later I started practicing DJing and a year and a half later I started DJing parties.

At least it's based on a preference for hearing it out though, I can't stand when people just try to fit in with some specific group that they must appeal by showing they listen to one specific genre. Lame world sometimes lol.

Will listen to something "once" at least.

Then decide on that.

But I do not have any one niche of music I will only listen to.

PW how quickly can you tell if a track isn't 320 or wav?

I can usually tell when there's an imbalance in the sound (if the vocals sound too loud, etc.) or if I load it into iTunes and the bitrate isn't 320kbps.

I only get 320kbps these days. In fact, I'm also getting rid of my older songs that aren't at least 256kbps.

Do you prefer Traktor or Serato?

Well, I meant by ear. I can hear it almost instantaneously as soon as I play the track. Nothing pisses me off more than when I'm digging on SoundCloud or heartthis and when I go to sort it, it ends up being crappy quality. I hate it with a freaking passion. I have been known to go back on SC and chew out producers that do that. Then I ask for the track in good quality :woot:

There's nothing s******r than having a 128kbps track. It's cheap and playing that over speakers can kill the mood and limit the response to the song.

Never settle for less.

That's pretty awesome actually

Traktor. I own an S4.

Traktor is by far the superior program. I can't stand the way the waveforms look in Serato. I recently got Traktor and my first good controller so it's opened up a whole new world for me. I have this old school mentality since I grew up on vinyl and then CDJs so it's kind of hard to grasp all the things available at my fingertips. Like the remix decks, I haven't even begun trying to mess with those. The only thing that sucks about using it is once I have all my new tunes downloaded and sorted I then have to go through every single folder to analyze them which is an annoying extra step now.

How much music do you have in total if you don't mind me asking?

I haven't really messed with remix decks because it's something I really want to dig into but there's other things I want to master first before I get into that.

I have around 7,900 songs. I'm coming in on 8,000.

So what, close to 70 GB then?

Actually 57GB. Still lots of files that need to be upgraded in kbps.

What are the main genres you have? I have about 280 GB of tunes w/ Breaks being the biggest. I basically have everything sorted by genre and they are as follows: Top 40/Pop by decade and year, Acapellas, Battle beats and samples, Breaks, classic hip hop, drum and bass, drumstep, dubstep, freestyle, future, House, instrumental, my DJ drops, Loops, Mash ups, mid-tempo, moombahton, rap/r&b, reggea, rock, Top 40, transitions, and trap/twerk.

and that doesn't include the 400 GB I have of just discographies of bands/artist/groups that I like for my personal music collection

When it comes to DJing, it's mostly Progressive, Classic House, Moombahton, Hip-Hop, trap, Italo Disco, 80s pop songs and other stuff.

Personal, it's a wide range of genres.

I got a 900G atroc mp19 processor DJ kit with a whistle.
