Madelaine Petsch, 22. I like her in 'Riverdale' she plays the (kinda) mean girl and I don't see her as MJ. She really fits the "mean girl" trope and I would want someone who's more...likeable on screen.

That's Madelaine Petsch. She plays Cheryl Blossom on Riverdale. I wouldn't want her as MJ, personally, as gorgeous as she is. I'd rather someone the same age or younger to Tom.

Having not watched Riverdale I don't have any preconceived notions about her and to me she looks pretty friendly and chill, just going by those photos but still. The fact that she was such a good mean girl you don't think she could play likeable only means that she played the mean role that convincingly, not necessarily that she couldn't also play a likeable person

Not that type casting isn't a thing that works well sometimes, but fan casting resorts to it way too often

Her lips look like giant pillows and she doesn't have a very kind, sympathetic face. It's not surprising she was picked to play a mean girl. I've never seen her on Riverdale so I have no preconceived notion of her either, but just looking at her she doesn't look all that friendly.

Since Riverdale actresses were brought up, why not suggest Lili Reinhart (Betty) again?

I believe someone brought her up before and I could see it. She's 20, too.

Well, from that picture alone, she seems to have a nicer, friendlier face than the other girl. Can't tell how she's like though.

Yeah I noticed after re-reading my post.

Well Betty in the comics is often compared to Gwen while Veronica is closer to MJ's personality.

Lily could make a great Gwen if she ever appears in the movies again.

As for the Zendaya as MJ theory, I think I'm not going to go with that at all as I do like the idea of her being the Vulture's daughter instead - and that I also understand her name was Michelle in the comics as well? And on top of that, there's still no reveal of her last name.

And I'm all for Lili Reinhardt as Gwen too. She's such a pretty girl.

This poll needs to be updated for a while now .

I don't think Zendaya is MJ and I've seen this theory about her being the Vulture daughter but it based on a 'supposed leaked script' so I don't buy it.

I think she doesn't has a last name yet because her real name might not be 'Michelle' but I would be really suprised if she was 'Michelle Toomes'.
