From a fan's point of view, yeah she was.

But if I had to see if causually with no bias, I think she worked the best in the first film. She was okay in the second but she was tossed into the trash by the third.

I was okay with her as a damsel in the first film, because she was a high schooler and it was the first super-villain she's ever had to deal with. But after that, she just got boring, ugly, useless and pitiful.


So I still don't have an answer to my question.

Kirsten didn't age too well though I think fans were too cruel to her.

Yes, she was 'worn out' looking by Spider-Man 3, but there's always a line that has to be drawn with these geeky folks before they act childish. haha.

If you're talking about The Wrap, they seem to be reliable though they came out of no where. They kinda reminds me of the old school 'film news' sites before they complied to the studios (so they don't get black listed).

I really think, and I hate to say it, when it comes to news, 'Deadline' is probably one of the better ones now. Sure, they're not that friendly towards the other movie sites but they get some awesome scoops.

It's strange some fanboys/ girls are saying there's no way we can get an exact ink drawing come to life then others are saying Elena does not look exactly like MJ?

Elena looks the part, fair and simple.

You only have to look at Kirsten Dunst to see that even more.

I mean I'm not exactly head-over-heels, turned-on by Emma Stone's look (unlike alot of fans on here) but I have to try & accept her.

You put Dianna Agron, Imogen Poots, other young Hollywood starlets etc. in a half naked photoshoot with amazing lighting and photoshop and they all look the part.

Again, nothing against Satine, but nothing about her screams MJ to me. I honestly find her face a bit boring by Hollywood standards; she honestly just looks like a boring mix of Marieh Delfino and Ashley Greene.

Has it been confirmed anywhere that MJ won't be in the Spidey reboot? Even if the site is unreliable?

Not officially confirmed but it's seeming pretty likely at this point. Hollywood Reporter and The Wrap are claiming she's not in it. We'll know for sure next month, when principal photography starts. If the role hasn't been cast by then, MJ's not in it.

I'm a huge MJ fan, by far one of my all time favorite female comic book characters but if they want to save her for the sequel and just focus on Gwen (and her relationship with Peter) in the first film, I'd be fine with that.

It would also be a change of pace from the previous films.

Elena seems like a solid choice. Good actress and very easy on the eyes. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has always been a favorite of mine as well. Maybe even Ashley Greene.

I try not to get attached to actors though, when they cast these films.
