Why do they always find a reason for Barry to take off his mask while in the field??

And why is he always telling some new person who he is???

Because the showrunners don't feel an obsessive need to keep pointless secret IDs, especially after the bad drama from last season?

I feel like the first season set up a great cast of characters for Barry to choose from to show his identity towards. Which would either lead to his downfall or benefit. As he is getting more comfortable with being hero, he is also getting more comfortable accepting that it is a part of who he is. This may show Barry's maturity slowly becoming reality as he isn't afraid to be who is towards his family and friends. The Flash changed him, and he didn't know how to react. Now that he has come to terms with his powers, and gained control of his newfound abilities he has learned to let people into his world.

While I like secret identities, they make considerably less sense when all the people he cares about are publically identified as connected to the Flash.
