I wonder if this is his last movie, I do hope at the end of the movie, he'll move around to Genosha or Asteriod M to live a peaceful life w/ mutants. So we could move on to new villains after DOFP.

I would like to see the continuation of Fassbenders Magneto or like you said a new villain. Magneto is my favorite X-Men, so I am excited to see what they have planned for both Magnetos. Those torture tools seem interesting. They fit old magneto perfectly.

I can't wait to see him again.

An old cast member that I'm actually excited to see in this movie :awesome:

Don't know if it was mentioned around here, but I saw a bit on another website (don't remember where) which cited a supposed Facebook entry from Sir Ian in which he said that old!Magneto will not require a helmet in DoFP. But he couldn't say why because that would spoil things.

That would be the likeliest explanation, yeah.

If those torture instruments belong to him though (they could always be young Magneto's of course), maybe it's a bit more complicated than that.

I think the torture instruments are for the younger Magneto.

torture instruments surely is a much better fit for younger Magneto.

Anyway; stoked to see Ian as Mags again! I do believe this might be his swan-song in the role.

I can't wait to see him again.

I couldn't second this anymore, I just can't, I will just explode in my seat the second he starts to interact with Charles in a scene directed by Bryan Singer, I cannot wait one more second.

i think older magneto may work with the xmen and younger magneto will be more menace

Ian Mckellen's performance as Magneto is the reason why I've been able to stomach every movie having him as the villain. The guy is amazing almost all his lines are memorable and he delivers them perfectly.
"Don't fear God senator, and certainly don't fear me...not anymore."
"It doesn't look like they're playing by your rules Charles, maybe we should play by theirs."
"You are God among insects, never let anyone tell you different."

Singer really struck a goldmine with his casting choices for Charles and Erik. In fact to be honest I think he's struck a goldmine with all the actors he cast in the main roles, if he just wrote the character's well and directed them to be more like their comic counterparts then we would all be as giddy to see them onscreen as we are to see Ian. Even, arguably, the weakest link in the cast, Halle Berry has the potential to deliver the qualities that Storm needs and look at films like Cloud Atlas to see her at her best in recent times. She can definitely play Storm the way we want, so can Anna, Shawn, Ellen etc. Just give them their dues Singer.

Well the X-Men are probably going to the past to stop the younger Magneto from doing something terrible in D.C. that could lead to the downfall of the mutants in the future.

He might be done filming, . . . For now. Since he is back filming The Hobbit.

They may be done filming the future stuff. It appears for first month of production that
part of film Is what they were working on due to all the OT cast there.

One thing I think we can be sure of now Is Magneto stays In future.

Don't forget Ian filmed his scenes In X2 In a 2 week peroid so they could have filmed
plenty of Ian for future before addational filming beguin for third hobbit.

I think it's too early to say they're done shooting future scenes. It's only May and principle photography lasts until October. Plus, Page said these are still the early days of production, and it's been reported that the likes of Berry shoot through July. I just can't imagine they require this much time to shoot scenes only remaining in 1973, but who knows what they have planned?

The Halle Berry report could be wrong.remember It was once said that Hugh Jackman and other OT cast members would only be used for scenes set In future. We know that was wrong.

If say the future scenes are only 30 Minutes of actual film It's withen the realm of possibilty that most of future stuff Is shot.

Who knows if they were only filming scenes in the future, they probably filmed a couple of scenes set in the past.

It's very likely that the future scenes will have the biggest action sequences of the film. I've read an article about the latest Star Trek film recently where it was mentioned that the final fight (involving three actors) took them about two weeks to film. Even if DoFP mostly takes place in the 70s, I wouldn't be surprised if the future scenes are actually the more complicated ones.

They should also do a couple of big action sequences in the 70s scenes since they are going there to save the future and the climax of the film would probably happen in the 70s. I hope they don't waterdown the action scenes when the present X-Men traveled to the 70s.

A bit late but it was Ian's birthday yesterday, 25th May. Happy Birthday Ian!!!!:hrt:

X4 Campaign posted t on their twitter

Ellen Page mentioned they were shooting a page per day. Future is going to be epic :yay::yay::yay:
