Just wanted to check people's opinions and ideas. :sly:

I do think that when Moira could've pointed out a few of the specific powers listed on the Egyptian artifacts. Would've been helpful for the audience to be told some of his powers like the teleportation and manipulate in organic matter.

Can someone tell me exactly how Apocalypse was awakened? Sunlight hitting the Celestial technology? The chanting of his followers? ... lol I was hoping Storm would have tied into it, like summoning rain/thunderstorm for a drought and lightning accidentally strikes that weird pyramid thing charging it like a defibrillator for Apocalypse.

1. I hated Storm's "origin" story, if that was really her origin story. I hated that "Mystique is my hero" stuff and her reaction when Apocalypse was strangling Mystique. Like I envisioned Storm as this troubled girl who possibly have a claustrophobia and personal issues. But I didn't really see that, I thought her thief scene was really sloppy and it was like apocalypse just turned her into a horseman because Storm was like the first mutant that he met after thousands of years, not because he saw something great from her.
2. Moira being the catalyst from awakening Apocalypse and they didn't even try to tie this up to later part of the movie, like they were unaware how Apocalypse was reawaken after all this time and it just another sloppy thing that I found.
3. Angel, Psylocke and Storm became moving statues after Apocalypse recruited Magneto and for that I just hated how half of this movie became the Magneto show. The horsemen weren't really interacting to each other, after Apocalypse made those three "stronger", they were just really silent and I would have liked more conversation between the horsemen or with Apocalypse. Like did they really want to join Apocalypse to destroy the world and kill innocent lives, it wasn't explored at all.
4. I wish Psylocke and Angel had actual motivation for joining Apocalypse, I wouldn't mind if I got a small backstory for those two. I didn't like that Psylocke was a bodyguard for Caliban, though I liked Caliban. They should have made her into an assassin! Angel seemed like a happy go lucky person and I wouldn't mind it so much if only it was some D-lister from the comics but no this is Angel/Archangel and they could have come up with a better story for him.
5. It could have been a perfect time to finally graduate Magneto and Mystique. But watching their last scene in the film I'm afraid that won't be the case.
6. Quicksilver should have done what he should have in the climax. I don't want that in the next movie.
7. Beast should have been in mutant form for all of his scenes.
8. I totally hated the Weapon X/Apocalypse taking over Cerebro scenes. For me that really dragged down the movie. If It was up to me, after Xavier talked to Erik through Cerebro... the horsemen and Apocalypse would have teleported through the X-Mansion to grab Xavier then Apocalypse would have killed Havok in a very brutal way. Then instead of seeing the Alkali Lake scenes, they could have use the time to grieve more about Havok, then more interaction with the horsemen possibly the horsemen would interact with Xavier, asking them why would they want to join with someone like Apocalypse in the first place. I just don't know how they would get a jet and battle gear suits without taking Stryker's jet.
9. No freaking Mystique in the danger Room. Its either I wanted her dead or just continue her mercenary thing.
10. I wish there was something more when Cyclops manifested his mutant powers. He didn't really struggle that much.
11. I would have removed Blob, Stryker and Jubilee
12. Quicksilver should have been more serious during the rescue scene
And many more!

For me the main missed opportunity was Storm. She didn't need much else to be honest. The groundwork was there for her. All she needed was a tiny bit of dialogue with Professor X and a look on her face that maybe showed he got to her. Which I think they honestly filmed and cut.

because then seeing her not involved in the battle and not liking what she sees Apocalypse does would make sense and why she followed the X-Men in the end.

There were some other bits like maybe editing it a little differently and fixing up some minor story issues but overall I thought it was fine. It just needed some slight story tweaks and a little more character from Storm, Psylocke and Angel and I would be super happy.

Xavier never tried to reason with Storm and we never really saw that reluctance from her until she saw Mystique getting chocked out. Xavier should have found some cracks in her resolve before that. Would have laid the foundation for their future relationship and made her more a sympathetic figure in the end.

The entire end fight would be changed. Apocalypse just takes punishment, takes punishment, takes more punishment, and then get impaled and disintegrated. Put up a fight. Make them work for it. This is where some morphing abilities and some energy blasts would have come in handy. It was too easy for them. Apocalypse should have roughed ALL of them up, at least a little bit, before getting taken out. I pretty much envisioned Cyclops, Storm, Jean/Phoenix, and Magneto finishing the job. but the fight beforehand was nonexistent. And the Horesmen battles before that sucked and would be changed as well. The Psylocke fight needed to be longer, faster paced, more athletic, and more physical. Maybe with some actual kicks and punches thrown in. Maybe show her fighting multiple people at once. Angel vs Nightcrawler would have used them more for transporting their respective team members around the battle. We got very little of that. Not talking about the running and hiding bamfing. More of the changing positions on the battle field but still attacking. Still fighting. Storm should have been a real challenge for them considering her repertoire.

They should have shown Storm meeting Mystique. Storm could have explained her actions and apologized, and Mystique could have said something about being lost and finding the way (repeating what Xavier told her in DOFP).

They should have shown Magneto rebuilding Cerebro specifically. Not that the continuity error really bugs me much, but it would be a nice nod to X2.

Magneto might have helped build cerebro again at the end of apocalypse, although it wouldn't fit in continuity now and would have confused even more when you remember its a new timeline

Yeah, I feel like he didn't have a proper enough introduction to let the audience know exactly who he was. The whole transference ceremony was cool and all...but what does this guy do? Didn't seem terribly accessible to anyone not familiar with the comics.

Quicksilver should've told Magneto he was his kid, would have made the ending to Eric's arc work better imo

It was the sun light, he will be destroyed by another kind of sun light, both woman though

That's a bit "meh".. was there even [BLACKOUT]sunlight during the opening sequence in the tomb powering the Celestial tech.[/BLACKOUT] ? I just remember chanting from his followers..

Wouldn't have used Apocalypse at all to be honest. I'd have used him much later down the line. Putting that aside though, here's some things that I saw working better as far as recruitment goes:

1] Storm's gang are caught stealing. We see her claustrophobia as the guys throw her into a box, ready to drag her and her friends away to be dealt with. Storm's hair turns white during the trauma, and though she uses her powers to free her friends, they turn on her when they discover she's a mutant. Apocalypse witnesses her power from afar and tracks her down later. His seduction is much more in depth and personal. He talks to her about being betrayed by the weak, and imprisoned in a "box" by those who feared him.

2] Apocalypse's visit to Caliban's turns violent, and this is where we see Apocalypse's strength for the first time. Storm and Apocalypse fight off a bunch of henchmen. Psylocke puts up a great fight, and an impressed Apocalypse offers her a place on his team. He lures her in with tales of his previous warriors, their honor, skills, and power. He senses she feels under-appreciated and promises the new world will know and respect her. Psylocke kills Caliban and leaves a horseman.

3] The body horror of Angel's recruitment was pretty great. I'd take it further. As before, Angel is drunk and not in the mood when Apocalypse appears to make him an offer. Things escalate further however, Warren begins to take some swings at him. Apocalypse tells Psy and Storm "leave us", and procedes to beat the living hell out of him, taunting the "Angel without wings". Beaten into submission, Warren sobs on the floor. Apocalypse tells him to rise to his feet and be a fighter again, with the stength of a god, he will be an Angel again.

Magneto's was fine. The other guys just needed some more meat. With something similar to above, you'd learn more about the characters but also more of Apocalypse himself.

Yeah, the top of the pyramid is uncovered to start the ceremony.

yes there was, and only because of Moira, she is the one who put out the carpet (a la djin right? ^^).

And it is important that it was Moira, Charles had stole her memory, kind of control her so. And when he let go, he free Jean Phoenix who destroyed apocalypse and right after he give back her memory to moira. i thought it was nice writing

I wish the other three horsemen would've had more development. I also don't like Mystique as a good guy, and wish that would've went the opposite direction with her character.

I would've liked to have seen some of this. More fleshing out of their motivations. As it stands, it almost might as well have just been mind control

There are enough characters in this film that it seems unrealistic to want much more development for supporting characters. I thought they touched nicely on pretty much everyone with respect to the size of their roles in the film.

Maybe a little bit more motivation for the Horsemen as a concept would have been nice, though it seems they're all pretty much united behind the idea of mutant superiority, and an extension of Apocalypse and his themes.

I do think it would have been nice to have seen Angel be the victim of a Friends of Humanity type thing, though I suppose you could argue he kind of was. He was clearly not one hundred percent cage fighting because he wanted to.

More expanding on The Horsemen apart from Magneto. Let me get to know them, why they are following a guy who wants to end the world.

Jubilee spending 2.5 seconds with the cool kids then disappearing, should've left her with them.

You're setting this movie in the 80s but not really taking advantage of it well apart from the hair and clothes.

I'd have modified Havok's power display to be blue and with large concentric rings of pulsing power...

The comics version looks so much cooler.

It's a unique energy manifestation, not like the usual bolts and blasts and it's a shame they didn't really go for it. We did get some rings around his blasts, but I'd rather it looked like the comics artwork.

I'd also rather he was injured not killed, then we could introduce Polaris in the next movie...

I feel they took a rather simplistic route -'oh, let's kill Havok to drive Cyclops on his path to becoming leader'. For me, his becoming leader is more to do with his sense of control - he has to control his eye-beams, he only sees the world in a red tint, this is the sort of discipline and imposed restriction that would (eventually) make him a bit stiff, formal and control-freaky.

I think it's a major missed opportunity not to have Beast be in his blue form the entire film. His acceptance of himself was an arc that needed closure, and it would have made his interactions with Mystique more interesting.

I was okay with that because they still haven't got the look entirely right, and less is more in my view...

I see that a lot of the complains here are really unfair and insane. The movie was awesome. Everything people are asking was explained in the movie. But is like you don't want to use your head to think and just want someone to tell you.

I think like the next X-Men movie there aren't excuses left for Mystique and Beast to look like humans.

If the last scene of the movie is an indication of that I'd be glad.

I wish the characters had the treatment Colossus had in Deadpool. they can have a small role, but they also can shine through their personality and then moving to power display in a final battle.

Motivations. I wish the characters had believable motivations.

I wish the movie had a great power display. I think it was a missed opportunity with Eric, Psylocke, Archangel, Nightcrawler, Apocalypse and especially Storm.

I wish the final battle was more imaginative and creative instead of [BLACKOUT]"everybody attacking him" and phoenix exploding[/BLACKOUT]. I wish we got something similar to the X-Men Vs Sentinels DOFP, but way better.

Last but not least, more dynamics between the characters.
