How would you have done the movie?

Yeah:up: To me, he lost his memory in the tank and when those claws popped out for the first time to his recollection, they hurt and he bleeds. He sees masked men with instruments all around him and he panics. Stryker's men start shooting so he goes crazy and escapes. He has no idea where he is at and just like an animal when cornered and frightened, they lash out and attack.

In the movie, he has no reason to act like that. Stryker says erase his memory but how are they going to catch and subdue him in there? He needed Victor's location and running out of the facility isn't going to get him that info. That is why I thought he needed to lose his memory while during the bonding process. If you don't want to get too Sci-fi with the helmet I mentioned, it could even be explained that the metal is so hot that it will destroy some of the brain and result in possible memory loss because memories don't grow brack like his brain cells will. I honestly feel like I could have written a better movie and I rarely think that.

Agreed. You never see the animal unleashed with Logan in Origins. The theme of the movie (or so I thought it was to be) was the battle within Logan to keep his humanity, to not give into his instincts and urges and to battle the monster within.

We never really got to see him go into a beserker rage and just start slaughtering soldier after soldier (thinking Mansion in X2). He always seemed cool and collected. His temper really never got the best of him.

When he walked away from Stryker and Kayla on The Island :facepalm

Logan would not have walked away from something like that.

Exactly. He spends years going after Stryker and Creed but Kayla is still alive!? Time to go back to being a lumberjack:dry:

What movie did you watch where Weapon XI wasn't Wade?

Baraka is from Mortal Kombat...he looks like Weapon XI.

I haven't been in the Wolverine threads for quite sometime.

I just now read your description for how the Wolverine film should have played out Chaseter...it's full of win!

Forget that whole post Chuckles, things just got messed up here!:oldrazz:

And thanks for the Info. So he got screwed, despite what others said,...

1. make it dark and gritty like the weapon x flashbacks from x-2 i wanted that tone.

2. get rid of blob/emma/cyclops/ - they are severely under developed and just take up time

3.make it more serious and realistic did not need or want fancy stylized

4. make the movie longer 1:45 minutes is just too short

5. spend more time on certain stuff like - weaponx program/the team on there missions

6.the action should be more brutal and not so cool and fancy looking

7.show some blood you can do that in pg13

8.for the love of god let Logan be like an animal and not just say he is an animal remember wolverine from the cage fight and sabertooth brawl in the snow thats the wolverine we should of got instead we got xmen 3 wolverine

this movie should of been on the level of batman begins instead it was on the level on Hulk(2003)

could of been 8/10 instead it was a 6/10

in other words i wanted the movie to look like

X1_01.gif

82030199.gif

Hulk 2003 was not as bad as people make it out. It had waaaay more substance than Wolverine piece of ****!!!!! Remember that was brian Singer...

Really? may i ask why? i mean i dont dislike but im not sure if i like it that much.. lol it but im curious to know ur opinions of the 2 Hulk films..

-No Blob, Bolt and Gambit or any of the other unnecarry cameos, they don't have anything to do with Wolverine's past

-More stabbing/shooting and less CGI/Explosive action sequences

-More berserker rage

-Weapon X adamantium grafting should have been like the X2 flashbacks and have it be the ending of the movie

-Silver Fox shouldn't be given any mutant powers

-Kill off Silver Fox instead of faking her death

-Stryker tampering with Wolverine and Sabretooth's memories, so, they can get along with each other in the Team X missions since Sabretooth killed Silver Fox

-Show Wolverine's animalistic nature in the Team X missions

-Mind controlled Agent Zero kidnaps Wolverine by force for the adamantium grafting process

-Wade Wilson should not show up after the Team X missions and no transformation into Barakapool

-Wolverine getting tortured and mind controlled during the adamantium process

-No adamantium bullets

-133 minutes running time like X2 instead of 107 minutes

I think you've said it all.

I'd just add showing more the war period and maybe a bit more of his childhood.

I would have made Logan naked and gay the whole film. Running through the woods... forever.

But that's just me.

I would have followed the novel by Marc Cerasini, which was very close to the Barry windsor-Smith graphic novel. Wolverine was forced into the procedure and through the story he is basically frankenstein, The monster everyone is afraid of it would have been dark and gritty, It would of been basically a sci-fi monster movie, ohh and I would have filmed it R then cleaned it up for a theater release so I could put out a director's cut DVD .

I just read Weapon X by Marc Cerasini and to be really honest it is amazing.
I really wish the film was done exactly like it.

I don't know who has read it but if you haven't pick it up asap... if you have i'm sure you know what i mean.

It focuses on 6-7 characters.

Logan aka Subject X/Weapon X. He is kidnapped one night from outside a bar and is subjected to an experiment where he is to become a weapon.

The Professor. He oversees said experiment and wishes to use Wolverine as his own personal weapon. He takes his orders from the mysterious Director X.

Abraham Cornelious. Apparent murderer of his wife and child he is on the run from the law. The Professor makes him a deal in which he aids the experiment with the nano technology, in turn the Prof will hide him from the law.

Agent Cutler. One of the guards who is security at the Weapon X compound.

Ms Hines. The REM specialist. REM erases Logans memory and in turn makes him a 'machine' that will obey (hopefully :cwink:)

Then in the past you have Miko and Langram. Langram a special ops and Miko a Japanese 'cop' who aid Logan on a mission into Korea.

The story begins with Logan drifting from bars to shelters trying to forget his past. On his way to his car he is ambushed by 3 guys including Cutler.
They take him to the compound where he is to be experimented on. Nobody is aware he is a mutant except Director X.. but soon they find out he is.
All of the procedure is very cool it is written so it is medically plausible.

The past is about Langram and Logan going on a mission to North Korea. They bump into Miko a Japanese 'cop'. This is where Logan first unleashes his bone claws.

EDIT didn't see the post above. x-fan as you see i completely agree :)

Yeah it could have been awesome, instead we got ...well not sure what it was a good movie, just not a good comic adaption, sometimes I hate Hollywood

I honestly don't get why they didnt just make the movie the way the comics were, with the actual origin. Its like they changed everything around just for the hell of it. Blob, Gambit, Bolt, and Wade were all there basically as gratuitious throwaways. None of them were essential to the story save Wade, and none of them were actually involved in Wolverine's real origin.

Then they gave us the old couple as some sort of fake Hudsons.

The more I think about this movie the more it pisses me off. It was a complete slap in the face to Wolverine's character and fans.

I would have done the movie as either a two-part or a trilogy:

Opening with the 1854 adolescent sequence, keeping with some of the stuff from the original "Wolverine: Origins" comic. Then I would have gone through the war montage and Wolverine's eventual recruitment into Department H.

Establish the team as Wolverine, Sabretooth, Maverick, Wraith, Kestrel, and change the mission to Africa to the mission to recover the carbonadium synthesizer and the subsequent encounter with Omega Red. Have Sabretooth kill the woman involved (Janice, I think) that Wolverine flipped over in the comics.

Have Wolverine quit and be captured, brainwashed, and operated on by Cornelius/Department H after meeting Silver Fox and settling down with her prior to Sabretooth killing her. Then I would go into his capability and fighting exercises as Weapon X (helmet and bear-fighting, baby), followed by his escape and arrival at the Hudsons.

As he stays with and regains his humanity with the Hudsons, he develops feelings for Heather and eventually joins Alpha Flight to try to escape the hopeless situation, becomes their prize member, and is sent on a mission to neutralize Hulk and Wendigo. We know the rest.

Basically, his actual origin. Deadpool, Gambit, and Cyclops would have nothing to do with it.

I agree and I think that this is exactly how the movie should have been done.

Really? may i ask why? i mean i dont dislike but im not sure if i like it that much.. lol it but im curious to know ur opinions of the 2 Hulk films..

I just thought Ang's Hulk was a better made movie, with better themes, characterization and acting from the lead.

I love Norton, but honestly, I thought it was one of his weakest performances. He just seemed totally jaded and/or uninterested. I think his conflicts with the studio over the re-writes take their toll on his performance.

TIH just used Hulk as a plot device for action scenes. He didn't actually have any personality. In Ang's there was some great moments of Hulk on his own, like at that lake in the desert where he looks at his reflection in the water with a sense of wonder on his face. Or where he is flying through the air the way he stretches out his arms and closes his eyes. That's what Hulk is for me, he is a big, angry kid who just wants to be left alone. Never got that from the actual Hulk in TIH.

Then there is the characterization of General Ross. In Ang's you could sense the conflict in him between his duty to stop the Hulk, and the love of his daughter. TIH General Ross just didn't seem to give a toss that his daughter is actually in love with Banner. He was just like "That mans entire body is property of the US Army!!!!" There was no conflict in him what-so-ever.

But anyway, to Wolverine.

I would of had the start the same up to the part where Stryker blags them up to join Weapon X.

After that I would of had all the team members meet up for training or something. Show how and why they all end up joining, which was essential for Wade in particular.

Then have their first mission together. Logan would actually show that he is the best he is at what he does, not just mope around in the background.

Then have the final mission where it is clearly apparent that by this time, Logan is completely jaded and disillusioned, he doesn't wanna do it anymore.

And the only other thing I would change is the experiment scene. I would have Logan being tested on, discussing the operation with Stryker and all that. Then have a scene before the actual experimentation, where Logan is looking up at the moon and is deep in thought about Kayla and the story she told him. It would add a sense of conflict, he knows that being experimented on is not good news, but his love for Kayla outweighs the feelings of apprehention.

Then have the experiment more similar to the flashbacks, with people standing over him, prodding him with drills and needles. He passes out from the pain, then they start trying to erase his memory by electrically shocking his brain or something. But this actually wakes him up and makes him go mental. He busts out of the tub and starts slicing and dicing his way out of the facility. We really see the "animal".

Those things are the only major things I would change to be honest. I like the film as it is, but yea, there definitely needed to be more of the "animal".

you know i see alot of good ideas in these threads... I love how us regular joe shmoes can come up with better story telling than these so-called Hollywood professionals smh..

we should.. or at the very least they should pay more attention to us fans.. yes I know they don't make these movies just for us but c'mon it is more than just fans who have complained about some of the flaws of this film... and ive read some very good points, and have read many ppls opinion on how or what woulda made it better... and I have to say there's some good ideas out here... I mean does anyone from Marvel ever set visit to see how things are coming along?? doesn't Marvel still own or control its own characters when they make a Marvel based character movie? I wonder what ppl at Marvel were saying when they say all the changes made to Wolverine in Origines.. is it too much trouble to round up a few movie, action, comic book & story lovers and pick our brains.. or is it more about one persons vision along with sumone else's writing backed by a Multi Billion dollar company that taints things??

What would be awesome, it would never happen but still, would be if every fan of the X-Men donated like 10 or 20 bucks and we make the movie. It would be the first fan financed big budget action movie. We listen to everyone and do what the majority wants and then hire a script writer to polish it, hire a good director, and film that suckah!

Anyways, send me your money:o

LOL...any 'fan-made' movie will still get ripped apart on the internet by fans claiming to be better fans than the ones who made the movie. It's a never-ending circle.

I've read the Marc Cerasini "Weapon X" novel too (in fact, I've seen him at the comic store near my office a few times). Great book. I wasn't crazy about his followup book, "Violent Tendencies," but I thought he did a great job novelizing the Weapon X story.

not sure if this was mentioned but they should of had wolverine narrate beginning of movie while war scenes were happening something along the lines

"My Name is Wolverine that's the name i have been given its the only name i know. I've been told i am the best i am at what i do but what i do is'nt very nice."

like the video game did
