Wow talk about an extremely disappointing fight between Silva and Leites. But I guess when the other respects their opponents strong point, stand up for Silva and the ground for Leites something like that was bound to happen.

Plus for Silva, he is the champ, he doesn't have to prove anything. Leites certainly should have made an effort to try and engage and push the fight more.

But I am stoked for the July card with Lesner vs. Mir, GSP vs. Thiago Alves, Hendo vs Bisping and Coleman vs. Bonner plus a lot of other cards. That is going to be one hell of a good damn event. Even if half of the fights suck it is still going to be a good UFC event.

Man, did you guys hear?! Forrest Griffin VS. Anderson Silva at UFC 101!

What? Griffin is a heavy or light heavy isn't he?

Either way, good. I want to see Forrest Griffin get killed. I hate that ****ing guy!

oh hell yea! i just saw the news on sherdog. Forrest vs. Silva is going to be huge!

I hope Forrest beats the crap out of Anderson! It will be a good fight and a tough test for both men. I hope Forrest can get a huge win like this under his belt and prove he is one of the best fighters in the world today

I'll be rooting for Forrest. He's the one that got me into this sport with TUF.

Looking forward to that fight. Plus, it's in Philly, so hopefully I can grab some tickets.

Screw that Forrest Griffin is so damn dramatic. The only reason he lost to shogun is because Shogun was more gassed than Griffin was, which from the looks of it, didn't seem like it was possible.

Griffin is no where near Silva's class. Not even close, but he is strong and can take a beating. I hope he gets crushed.

That's going to be a huge fight, hopefully Anderson is up for it. A win here puts Forrest back in LHW Title contention.

Also, is there anyway to merge this thread with the UFC thread?

At least the UFC doesn't have Jose Canseco fighting Hong Man Choi like Dream has.

how do you see the fight going Evil?

Personally I think Forrest has solid enough stand-up to avoid getting nailed with anything from Silva that would put him out. Actually, Forrest has really technically striking now and is no longer a brawler like he once was. From there I think he will move in and clinch with Anderosn against the cage and force a takedown on him. There Forrest will utilize his larger size and evolving ground game to either force a stoppage or put silva in a position where he gets submitted.

Plus it doesnt hurt to have Randy Couture in your corner and being in his camp when preparing for a fight like this. The guy is just so smart.

But you cant take Silva striking ability away. There's always a chance he could get the KO, but I don't know if Forrest will give him that opportunity.

Anderson vs. Forrest could go either way. Silva needs to show that he's the fighter he was when he faced Dan Henderson and not like he was in his last fight if he is to win this. Griffin needs to rebound from his loss to Evans and show that he's the fighter he was when he fought Rampage. I think Forrest wins, but it's going to be a close fight.

I mean seriously? I don't understand how you guys can go with Forrest. I guess it might be that Silva is moving up in weight class and you guys just think he is not going to be as effective as a light heavy as he is as a middleweight (not sure if this is the right weight class Silva is normally in). But Silva has destroyed all UFC competition so far with the exception of the last fight.

But that's because he played it safe, he knew his opponents ground game was his strong point. So he made his opponent come to him, he was the champ. So come take the belt from me.

I think we will see a much different fight with Griffin. Silva doesn't have the belt so he will need to press the action more, probably will still be careful because Griffin is dangerous, but no where near Silva's level of a fighter at all. I mean seriously, Silva has been fighting since he was 14 and fighting in Brazil and fighting in America are two very different things.

Griffin might have strength and size in his favor, but that's it really.

Forrest has a chance. Never count someone like Forrest out of a fight, cause he'll prove you wrong. Anderson, yeah, is more skilled and will probably win, but I'll be rooting for Forrest until the end. Anderson has never fought anyone bigger than him.

What do you guys think of the upcoming Machida/Evans fight? That is going to be a battle.

Agreed, I think Evans is really going to be tested. I am really looking forward to that fight.

Yeah, I hope Machida beats him. This is shaping up to be one of those great fights in MMA history.

I think Machida stands a really good shot at beating him. It is going to be a really good fight or very, very boring.

I'm really looking forward to Mir & Lesner  That is going to be epic.

I am picking Machida to beat Evans and then face Jackson later this year.

i definitely got Machida over Rashad. It wont even be close and Machida will completely pick him aprt and outclass him. Evan's only chance is to land a clean powerful punch, but that isnt going to be easy to do with Machida. I hope Rashad gets KO'd. I cant stand him!

Mir and Lesnar II is going to be epic! I cannot wait for this fight. I'm rooting for and picking Mir to win. Lesnar, while he is a powerful guy with great wrestling, is going to have a a hell of a time with Mir once he takes him to the ground. Mir is constantly working when he's on his back and trying for a submission. He is probably the most diligent BJJ guy in MMA.
If the fight stays on the feet, it could go either way. Lesnar has shown he has good power and Mir's chin isnt the greatest. But Mir is the much more technical striker with his karate background

I don't have a preference for the Evans vs. Machida fight, but I don't think Machida is going to pick Evans apart. I do think Machida is the favorite, but Evans isn't where he is at for no reason.

Then again look at what happened to Rich Franklin when he met Anderson Silva, twice. So Machida certainly could just tear Evans apart but I don't think he will.

I think Lesner has the Mir fight. I really want Mir to win just because if he gets demolished this time, like he almost did last time, Lesner is only going to have more confidence and be even more of a beast than he already is. But I am not counting Mir out, he has the size and skill to certainly take Lesner again.

But Lesner has only gotten better and smarter from their first encoutner. He basically made a stupid mistake and gave Mir the fight.

You can now vote from 177 fights to rank the top 100 fights in UFC history. OK, realize that not EVERY fight is on here. But there's a ton of stuff here from old school UFC from the 90's and after. Some of the votes are pretty surprising. But do as you see fit. You can comment as well.

The Silva/Leites fight is disgraceful. For the first time ever, I am rooting for Forrest Griffin to destroy Anderson Silva. I'm sorry, but "THAT WAS A TECHNICAL STRATEGIC MMA BATTLE" is not a good excuse. That was not a fight.

Leites should be fired. He was gifted with a title shot he doesn't deserve and literally does nothing to try and win.
